Feeling very breathless, even when sitting...

Has anyone experienced this, had it investigated and if so...what was the outcome?

Of course I get breathless walking up stairs and any distance, but sitting?

i sometimes get this, an the midwife says its just that placenta and baby pushing further up into your chest, and restricting the amount of space your lungs have....

if youre realy worried, id call a doc, or the midwives...

I had breathlessness and heart palpitations too. Sometimes they are considered 'normal' but I got mine checked which was lucky as I was dangerously low in ferritin (iron). When you are low, your heart and lungs work harder to get oxygen to the red blood cells, which need it! It only takes a blood test to check out what it is- it was definately worth it in my case.
    Good luck!

at around 28 weeks the top of the uterus reaches the rib cage, and the rib cage begins to flare as the expands...thats why we never get out little waists back again ...feeling breathless is a result of not being able to use the lower lobes of your lungs, causing the need to take more frequent breaths...breathless

having correct posture can help to alleviate this, optimising the space for your growing baby and your lungs. A good pregnancy yoga teacher will be able to show you some moves to help alleviate this

Hi tasha...I'm fairly certain my iron levels are very good as I'm taking Elevit religiously each day and eating plenty of red meat too! I will check that out though. Was your iron low?

Yes I had that today. I was sitting down and was on the phone and I was finding it very difficult to get my words out. Happens every now and then. Nice to know it is a normal going on.
