Braxton Hicks... When did yours start?

    Hello wonderful peoples.

Just wondering how early the BH's started for others. I have been having them since 16 weeks. I got them alot with my other two kids, but I never remember them starting this early on. I think it was more like 28-30 weeks before.

They usually start when I am walking around the supermarket or going for a walk. And they go away when I stop and take a breather. But... it just seems too early for them to start yet????

nope they can start at 16 weeks
for me they started with my twins around 20 weeks and this time they started around 24 weeks. Totally normal, but man they can take your breath! Hang in there

Hi Myson, I think I started getting them around 18-20 weeks (Im 28 weeks now) but not really any pain, just the tight then release feeling. Like you its mostly when I walk etc.
    Take care

I will be 16 weeks on Sunday and have had some light pains and wondered about BH but thought surely it couldn't be this early! After your post I'm starting to think it could be. I wonder if the more kids you have the more likely they are to start early?

Mine have just started now... 27 weeks.

Just a tightening then a release. Sometimes I get three or four in a row that last a few seconds, sometimes just one. Very weird feeling!

My sister never had them through her pregnancy.

I had two episodes when I was around 16-17 weeks, then nothing since then. Strange.

I have had mine now since about 14 weeks, it scared the hell outta me to begin with, but the Obs told me that because I am carrying twins they will start a lot earlier. I am having them everyday and they are quite strong and last for about 45 minutes in total

Didn't get them with DS1 or DS2 so I wouldn't know what to look for this time around!

I had them since about 12 weeks. Not too painful. Very obvious now though. I think they start really early but it just varies on when you become aware of them.

With Darcy it was 20 weeks and this one about 18. Mine are painful though, so I guess I am more aware of them.

Um.. with DS i didnt get them at all.. but with DD i think it was around the 20 week mark, but not so bad. Towards the last few weeks they got alot more. Maybe because its a sequential pregnancy, your uterus has already been through actual contractions, it is just doing what it knows to do in preparing itself iykwim?

    Best of luck.

I was around 20 weeks? with my 1st pregnancy. But with the last 3 pregnancies it has been earlier, around 14 weeks!

Good to know. I was worried a bit that it was way too early, but seems that its quite ok to start so early. Im still getting them a few times a day. Not painful but very noticeable.
