    Truth or Myth

Ive heard it said a fair bit, that if all the baby weight sits at the front on your tummy, its a sign its a boy, and if it sits everywhere...(ie- thighs, waist, lower back etc) its a good sign of a girl.

My mum said she went by this, on guessing the genders of 5 of her 6 kids...
Im not calling her a liar lol, but i was wondering if anyone also thinks this to be true, could it be hereditary, if my mum could tell boy from girl, could I?

    i think its a myth.

U have a 1 in 2 chance of picking the right gender. Its not rocket science. Its a good myth tho... one that will be around for centuries i think.

FYI - my belly was very out front and very high. N most of my weight went straight to my tummy. I had a girl.

Bwahahaha nah I think its complete crap - you'll carry the baby the way that your body carries it - not by what genitals the baby has

yeah thats what i though, surely your body doesnt know to carry each gender differenntly just because of that one different tiny thing between them...

I feel as though it a boy, and my DP thinks and hopes a girl. we have a 100 buck bet going.

I really feel like its a boy, i dont know what it is, but i just feel it. Not sure whether it might just be that i got carried away buying clothes, and a lot or most of them are blue... lol (silly me)

The only "myth" that was successful in predicting both sexes of my bubs was the ring test - so give that a go

I was always told i was carrying a girl with DD1 as all my weight was gained on my butt and thighs....sure enough i did have a girl....and gained 18kg

With DD2 ans DS i never gained much wait at all (7-8kg) so you never really could tell

My sister carried heavily with both her pregnancies (put on approx 20kgs each time) and both were boys.

On the flipside, a close friend had very neat, basketball type bumps with both her pregnancies and you could hardly tell she was pregnant from behind and both were girls.

I don't believe in any of the myths now and I'm quick to tell people that when they tell me 'oh you're definitely having a.....' based on my size, shape, skin condition, cravings, etc. They just make me laugh!

FTM - With Niki, I got a bump belly very early on it was very forward and high sitting. I did also put weight on in other places but I was more out front and I had a girl. Everyone who saw me guessed it was a girl.

This time I am not as big and seem to be spreading out more than forward - will let you know what I am having when I find out.

With the boys i was really wide in the tummy but with abbie i was all out the front. I craved different things, and in general it was a totally different pregnancy. I don't believe in all those myths but i have to say the ring test did get it right everytime LOL
