V tired after 1st stage Gestational Diabetes test

    Hi Gals
I had GCT (no fasting, drink, blood test one hour afterward) about 2.5 hours ago.
I am still feeling v v tired and a little woozy afterward.
    Is this normal?
Could the extreme fatigue an indicator that I do have GD?
I don't get my results from today until I see my ob next week.
    Cheers
    Belinda.

I felt the same when i had mine with DD. Only way i felt better was to eat some fruit and have a cup of tea.

No, I was that sick during and after the test with my DD that the hospital I had it done at put me in a bed for a few hours so I could recover.

I was POSITIVE that meant that I had GD but I didn't! So it's really no indicator.

Hope you pass with flying colours!

    Hi BB77,

I felt the same way, so so so tired (and I thought sugar was meant to make you hypo). About 30 mins after having it I felt really sick and tired. I got to work about 2 hrs after it and still felt tired and I thought it could be a sign that I had GD. But I had the test 1 week ago and haven't heard from my doc so I think I am fine...so I am sure you are too.

Did they say when you would hear from them with the results?

    Hi gals
Thanks for your feedback - its quite reassuring - I am still feeling a bit off (its about 4 and half hours later) but have been drinking lots of water so hopefully that will help.
Flossie - I am seeing my obs next Tuesday - he asked me to do the test early this week so he could get the results back in time for our appointment for discussion then.
So fingers crossed for both of us
    Cheers
    Belinda.
