    Waddling

I'm finding myself waddling -- and I don't even really have a bump yet!
My lower back often feels achey when I get up from lying down and my first few steps are definitely duck-like. I usually get up the proper way, a habit formed after lower back surgery a few years ago.
When did other people start waddling? I always thought it was a result of the weight of the baby and where it's head was.

I think it has more to do with your centre of gravity. As bub grows and you 'expand' as well, your centre of gravity shifts to accommodate.

I think the waddling can also be a sign that you may have some pelvic instability. I was told by a friend that I already had the waddle when I was about 16 weeks, and now (24w) I have a lot of pelvic pain and some lower back pain too - which I fear may be SPD...

Id just mention it to your doc/midwife and see if they think it's just a gravity thing or if you might need some advice/support from a physio to stabilise the pelvis to cope with bub's growth.

i think i've only developed the waddle in the last couple of weeks. i did get lower back (and some upper back) soreness by around the 20 weeks and i was in pain every time i got up from sitting or lying down. i went to see an osteopath & i haven't had any upper back soreness since & my lower back has been much better. my lower back has just been getting sore in the last couple of days & it's been a month + one week since my last visit.

I've heard there's an oesteopath here... don't know whether he/she speaks English though.
I'll see what the obst says tomorrow. I'm pretty sure there's no midwives here, unfortunately.
