Hi everyone
I'm 28 weeks and concerned about my baby's movements. I seem to only get roughly 10 to 15 a day, with the occasional more active day. I discussed with a midwife at the hospital yesterday and she did some monitoring for about 20 minutes, she said everything seemed fine and gave me a kick chart to fill in. She wasn't too concerned as long as I was getting the 10 movements a day.
I know this should reassure me but it seems like everyone else I know who is pregnant says their baby moves constantly, or at least a lot more than 10 times a day. Has anyone else had experience of a not so active baby? Another midwife told me fetal movement is a good reflection on baby's well being so I can't help but worry.. Do you think I should ring another hospital for a second opinion?
I am nearly 28 weeks and I will have days when bub is going crazy, other days when it's a bit quiet. My OB said that until 30 weeks they don't even really bother with kick counting because the baby is still of a size that you won't necessarily feel all the movements. I've had scans (I have them every week to check for heart issues) where you can see the baby moving but I wasn't feeling it. It also depends on bub's position - it may be kicking backwards and you aren't feeling it. But even that aside, 10-15 movements still sounds pretty good to me.
BUT if you are concerned always trust your instinct - it isn't worth the stress for you to be worried about it all the time. So if you are really worried, then get more advice. Good luck
oh yes, with DD(who is now 2 and well and truly making up for it!!)i had to be monitored all the time from about 26 weeks, they felt she wasnt moving enough,so much so they borught me on early and even opted for emergency ceaser all because they felt she wasnt moving enough yet she was fine, perfect,i think some babies move more than others,i swear i hardly ever felt her unless she had hiccups and had to go up the hospital every week for monitoring yet this time im 25 weeks and pregnant with a boy and he just goes like mad my whole belly moves like crazy totally different to my DD i am in shock becuase its so different! It is worrying though you cant help it,but i really think there just all different!
