    When did you 'pop'?

    I'm currently 16.5weeks.
I've always had a little bit of a tummy, but its soft, and flabby, and was bloating from the IVF etc.. It really hasn't changed the whole time, maybe slightly, but its gone up and down. The last few days I've been able to say its starting to look like baby!. but it is only tiny, and when I lay down, and only because I know my body, my body shape etc.. and I know that this part of my tummy (right down low, above my pelvic bone) is 1/2 cm bigger, and it is firm, so i know its deff baby.

I've been trying to find other peoples bellies at this gestation to see how much they were showing and where they were, I've found a couple of peoples, and they are showing heaps more than me!

I know this is neither good nor bad, nor are other peoples bellies compared to mine better or worse, every one is different! it's just strange, and I am being impatient! =P

But I am curious as to when people 'popped'.

another factor that I have been thinking about, is I have a tilted uterus - it falls backwards (towards my back) rather than normal with falls forward. As the uterus grows it takes the same shape either way, and by this gestation it is the same either way (no matter how it started). but just thought I wonder if that makes me not show as much, because it was back, not forward. did any of that make sense?

I don't reckon I even noticed until 25 weeks last time. And even then people didn't believe I was pregnant.
This time I could tell at 17 weeks, but as I wear a lot of baggy type tops etc, the bump was visible, but not form fitting visible, I could have gone my whole pregnancy unnoticed if i had wanted to

This time around by late afternoon at 8 weeks I had a little pot belly. But I really showed around 13 weeks. When I first told my work colleagues at that stage I did have one tell me that they'd noticed and wondered, so it wasn't just me! On the upside, it slowed down in the third tri and now I look small for dates.

First time around I was about a month different, so a small pot at around 12 weeks and a noticeable bump from 15-16 weeks. If memory serves me correctly.

right... so I don't feel like I have poped, just still have my flabby belly. but when I came home yesterday and hugged DH he goes 'wtf is that?!' and was refering to my hard tummy digging into him. so he is noticing it. I'd say though, my tummy is the same size, just now its harder rather than soft and squishy.

Im A little flabby around the tummy area & just now at 14.5 weeks I have noticed a little firmer in certain areas of my belly but as you mentioned only hubby & I would noticed as I tend to hide my tummy by clothes by habit. Id say by Xmas I will have a rounder tummy as Mum metioned yesterday she has noticed its a little rounder. I feel so fat & horrible I'm be glad when I look pregnant not just like Ive had a huge lunch!

yes! I am impatient to get to the deff. preg showing stage, rather than the 'she has just gotten fat' stage which is what i am at =P

In my first pg, I was bloated like a puffer fish (due to drugs, although I don't know if I was borderline over stimulated???) so at 12 weeks I looked like I was 20 weeks. I did 'pop' though around 18 weeks I think (ie the swelling from the drugs went down and my bump came out more firmer). In my second pg, I popped a lot sooner, I think around 14-15 weeks I think.

With DD1 I think I popped around 20 weeks and it was around 22/23 weeks when others noticed that I was definitely pregnant.
This time it was around 16 weeks I think.

I'd say about 11 weeks was it for me, and by about 15 I was obviously obviously pregnant. That's when someone first offered me a seat on public transport. I have no idea why I showed so early. Fwiw, my belly got badly stretchmarked as it just popped and popped. I also got to the point at about 37 weeks where my measurements stayed the same. My DD was very squashed when she was born, her head plates were overlapped, her face was literally lopsided and she has hip dysplasia on the squashed side. I think my body carried too long, her placenta was grainy and she looked overcooked. Your uterus position is going to make a huge difference to how you show too, some women just carry their babies right inside of them.

ETA I can't link to my preg album from my phone, but if any of my FB friends want to, go ahead I also wanted to add that I'm quite short, but a little overweight.

About 14-16wks with DD but I was also about 10kgs lighter.

This time I have the 'belly fat' to contend with and I think I look fat still not pregnant although its starting to take a little bit of preg shape only I can really tell. My DH (when I asked him on the weekend) said it still looks like "Ive let myself go"!
I dont think it will be much longer as its starting to go a little harder now so I think by the time I come back to work after Xmas it will be baby shape....Im 18wks on Thur!

pregnancy 1, it was around 18 weeks. I looked slightly bigger around the belly from 14-16 weeks or so, but by 18, there was an evident bump. But not so much that you'd know for sure - we kept it a secret until 22 weeks.

pregnancy 2, I reckon it was obvious from around 14-16 weeks there was a bump, but as I'm a bit tubby, it wasn't obvious whether it was too many pancakes, or a bun

Sadly 14 weeks for this second baby. Maybe 18 weeks for#1.
I am so glad this thread came up today. Just went to kids party on weekend and a number of play group mums were really indiscreet when they realized I was 'only 18 weeks'. Someone with twins asked if I knew for sure I was only having one..... Now I remember what I didn't like about playgroup! Usually DH takes our son while I'm at work.

I'm have a fairly slim build to start with, and tend to lose about 6kg during the first trimester, so I thought I would show early. But DS's pregnancy I popped about 16-17 weeks, then with DD it was about 15-16 weeks, and with this pregnancy it was probably not until 17-18 weeks. I've finally made it past the "has she eaten to much cake?" stage to the "obviously pregnant" stage, lol.

Oh, I also have a retroverted uterus as well. I don't think it made much difference to when I popped though.
