just wondering when you all are feeling your babies kicking or moving around. i keep rerading that bubs move mostly at night, and are rocked to sleep during the day by our movment...but my little girl seems to be awake during the day and sleep when i sleep! is that normal? i sure hope these sleeping patterns continue when she comes out!!!!!
Tina,
My baby boy is the same as your little girl. He spends most of his time moving during the morning and sleeps at lunch time then usually wakes up by the time DH comes home and then back to sleep at bed time. I have never had him wake me up in the middle of the night kicking. We certainly pray that he keeps this u when he arrives. I have heard that they start their sleep patterns when they still in the womb. Cross fingers for us heh!
I started feeling bump the day before our 19 week scan.
DD was always asleep first thing in the morning and got more active later in the afternoon and then at about 4am. This does follow her sleeping patterns by the way.
This time bubs seems to be active all the time, I get kicks at all times of the day it hardly ever seems to stop.
I haven't been feeling movement for long, but it is usually in the evening from around dinner until late, and then first thing when I wake up. Occassionally I have felt movement around lunch time. If he does keep this pattern up, I think I will be in for a lot of late nights as that seems to be party time!
Charlie totally has a timetable. I'm usually woken up between 7:30-8am (she kicks me if I don't go the the loo fast enough) then at about 11am, then somewhere between 3-5pm she'll have a party, then 8pm, then 10:15 she is most active (usually because I'm lying down and can really really feel it) then again at 1am ish. I love it. Plus if that does turn out to be her pattern when she's born, I can totally live with it!
So WHERE do you feel those early movements? Are they in the middle, on the side, below your belly button etc? I can't wait to feel bubba for the first time so please let me know where it all happens!
Megsy - My moment started towards the top of my belly button like a bubble but seems to be lower down now.
Our little one likes to start up when I am at work in the moring and just after I get home at night and will keep it up till I get to bed. It only really started a week ago for me as she is sitting behind the placenta
Our little boy kicks me first thing in the morning - usually 6am to go wee .. then i can't sleep again, then he wriggles for the morn... goes to sleep until just before lunch, has a kick around ... sleeps til mid arvo... kicking again and then tends to sleep til i go to bed (or maybe i don't feel him) and flat out kicks A LOT for about an hour.
megsy - my first proper kicks were down low near pelvis and it scared the crapiola outta me... i laughed and cried at the same time. once you feel it you just want to keep on feeling it.
The first kicks i felt were down low and in front. I think it depends where your placenta is positioned as to when you will feel it as well.
When my bubs first started to kick (around 19weeks when I felt a definite kick) it used to be mainly in the evening or if I was lying on the couch being still.
Now I get kicked all the time. Day and night. high, low, side to side! I think now that bubs is bigger and stronger I can feel the kicks more often.
It sounds like you have got your baby into a great sleep pattern as well!!!! Hope it continues!
I tend to get kicks late morning, mid afternoon and 8pm onwards until I am asleep! The kicks are all over now, but initially they were low down, almost towards the back if that makes sense.
With my first child, I didn't feel him kicking at night when I was asleep - but he kept my partner awake often by kicking him in the back!
My baby's kicks are always down low and to the left, must be the position that she's comfy in or something. She's really active in the morning around 10-11, and today was kicking for like 30 mins non stop
Claire used to have a bit of a kicking session as soon as I lay down in bed. She'd go for about 20 minutes. It felt like she was dancing in there! She did, however, kick all day, but mostly at night.
