I have had really strong pains in my tummy yesterday and today. The spot hurts if i cough which makes me think it is maybe a pulled muscle. Also, if i am picking things up or leaning down. I have abdominal seperation but the pains are mainly on the side, the seperation is usually sore in the middle. If i lay down, it feels much better.
If it is something more than just a pulled muscle, what symptoms should i be concerned about?
thanks
p.s. i am 25 weeks pregnant now

I use to get this with miss a, I have no idea what it was, figured it was an organ being squished or a ligament stretching... It's harder on your body 2nd time round cos you have to runaround after DD and are doing things that you wouldn't have (like picking up a good 10kg constantly!)
If lying down helps, listen to your body... But with everything if you are worried, get it checked out.
Which muscle is it? Do you know which way bub is lying? I get a sharp pain in my RHS across the tummy because the baby lies there. My physio tells me there's a big muscle there that is being stretched and pulled more.
The only other pains I've had were from a nasty tummy bug last week.
Thank you. DH is on night shift, but my gorgeous DD is already asleep in bed. Think i might have a quick shower then get an early night and hope it feels better in the morning. Bub is giving me lots of reassuring kicks, and it sounds like the pains are not that uncommon.
Hun, I seem to remember you have quite bad muscle separation too, right? That would also be affecting the way the other muscles try to hold everything in, possibly putting more pressure on them. Have you spoken to your m/w about the pain at all?
Just sending you some love and hope DD sleeps well in her big bed. Tell DH that you need some help over the next couple of days...or i will kick both your butts!! You need to take care of yourself!!
I had really bad tight stitch like tummy pains last week (I'm 21 weeks) behind my belly button which lasted two days then disappeared. My OB said it sounded like a pulled muscle as the muscles behind the belly button connect to the liver and are very thin. I've also had an assortment of muscular pains in or near my pelvic area including my inner thighs, lower back, groin etc. My OB said they were radial pains from pulled muscles due to loose and stretching ligaments. So it's pretty normal.
Yeah I've had these too and still get them, if I do too much. It's a sign for me to slow down and rest for a day or 2.
If I stand too long, or spend hours doing house work etc I'll get them. One on one side and one on the other. Sometimes they linger around too, they aren't very nice But mine have never hurt bubs, and feel like I have pulled a muscle so I believe I just strain that whole area too much.
