****y Ticker and spotty red palms

I am experiencing some strange heart irregularities. It feels like extreme nerves, my heart kind of skips a beat or does an extra beat or something. It feels quite uncomfortable. It came about in my first trimester, subsided for second tri and now that I have just hit the final tri it has returned. Does anyone else experience this? This is my second baby - with a 14 year gap!

ALSO - I feel I have gained quite a bit of weight but I feel very puffy around the face, get red swollen palms (almost spotty) and my knees feel swollen - do you think this sounds like fluid retension? I am most worried about the strange palms/hands. Never had any of this with my beautiful daughter.

I think you need your BP checked ASAP Megs. Ring the midwives.
Swollen face and hands are a good indicator your BP is on the rise.

Yep, if you ring the Nurses Hotline they'll tell you to get straight to a hospital so you can be checked for preeclampsia - I don't wanna scare you but it can come on super quick and be VERY dangerous. Off to the doc you go!

Thanks so much for all your replies.

I went to my GP and my bp was 130/68. He said It was fine and if the heart palps bother me too much go back. I am seeing my M/W next week, will discuss it with her then. The heart probs get worse at night.

Arrg this pg is much harder at 34 than it was at 20! praying for a healthy bub!

I had a horrible pregnancy last time and my BP went up to 170/120 and i was swollen from head to toe and also had the heart palpatations.. anyway the point of me telling you this is that my bub was perfectly fine and is now a happy and healthy 2.5 year old They are pretty tough in there!!
