    Acupuncture

hi ladies, im 34 weeks pregnant with my second child

my first was breech and i had to have a c section, this time she is head down and everything is going well

my doctors have said if i do not have her by 39 weeks they are booking me in for a c section GRRRRRR
so i have been searching online for natural ways to induce labor, i am going to try acupuncture at 37-38 weeks ,

i was just wondering if anyone has tried or knows anyone who has tried it had how did it go

You don't have to agree to the c/s... VBAC is safer than c/s. I would get started with acupunture right away, now is a very good time to look into it, also About Spinning Babies is a great resource. Good luck!!!

I agree - ask them to show you studies/evidence that it would be safer for you and your baby to have a c-section at 39 weeks than a VBAC. I bet you it all comes down to hospital policy rather than solid evidence-based research.
Why don't you go to a practitioner right away and have a consultation? They would be the best person to advise you as to when you should start 'induction' acupuncture, and likely they can give you a treatment to help out with any aches and pains you might be experiencing, or at least relax you!

Induction acupuncture is only done on the due date or later, but it can be helpful for labour preparation, position related issues and loads of other things too. Can also help with better labours. Justin advises women to start at 36 weeks for labour prep.

I had acupuncture from about 36 weeks last time and will be starting at 34 wks this time... i swear by it (also used it for conception this time with great success). I went into labour at 39 wks and had a fab labour and recovery. I never had 'induction' acupuncture, but i asked for acupuncture to prepare the body for labour and i do think this wil help. it is also great for relaxation and aches and pains. i highly recommend you go see someone who specialises in women's health and see what they recommend for you (everyone is different). good luck!
