    Itchy breasts and nipples! Help!

For the last few days (and nights!) my nipples and breasts have been itching like crazy. I have some pretty serious stretch marks going on from earlier in the pregnancy and I am just praying I won't get more (I expanded 2 cup sizes in about as many weeks in the first tri).

Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone have any advice? I am using an oil my naturopath prepared for me, but it only works temporarily.

Please don't say I'm in for more stretchies...

    Hi Anna,

I find that Pawpaw Ointment (natural and from chemists/supermarkets in a red tube or tub) is a great relief, it is a bit sticky, but I think well worth it.

If you have any colostrum yet, expressing a small amount and rubbing into your nipples is also a great remedy, also for once bubs comes to keep nibbles soft and healthy (much better than anything you can buy).

Although you cannot use it during pregnancy, once bubs is born if you still have problems with itching peppermint is great, avoid using around bubs though.

I cannot offer any assistance on weather you are getting more strech marks. I am fortunante enough that although my breasts grew alot, I did not get any stretch marks on them (made up for it on my hips though )

Good luck, hope it has been a little helpful, itching is horrible.

    Deanne.

I had the itching INSANELY and my boobs have doubled and Im only 21 weeks!! Just wanted to say the itching does pass and it should stop soon. I used anything, sorbelene, sudacrem, whatever was thick and handy! From past experience, my boobs will keep growing and then absolutely explode when my milk comes in. I have had stretch marks but they are all invisible, so hopefully the same will happen for you.
ALso mine have shrunk after each pregnancy, smaller each time. (for me that is a miracle)!! Good luck, hope the itching stops soon xo

You guys must have missed Kitt3ns thread about this! Justin Keane came in and suggested Cabbage Leaves and from all accounts it has worked like a charm.

Off to the greengrocers with you!

    Thanks gals!

I am definitely going to try the cabbage leaves.

Any idea on how long for the stretch marks to fade? At the moment they're less purple than they were - more like a red-brown colour. I have had other stretch marks fade to white (from puberty) but I can't remember how long it takes for them to fade...any experiences?
