Ante-natal classes tomorrow evening

Would anyone from here be attending an ante-natal class at the Mater Mothers (Brisbane) tomorrow evening?

oooh do they have ante natal classes? I asked but they forgot to answer, i read the posters but got confused by too much information. I'm also booked into the Mater and are due Jan 2. Could u let me know if you went, how it was, will you go again?

The antenatal classes I went through at the Mater was a series of 6 sessions a week apart. Cost about $250 (or payable by your health fund). They also have a weekend workshop with one evening session that covers that same info. They also have exercise and physio sessions, a session specifically for Dads and even one for grandparents.

I found the classes to be worthwhile as a first time Mum, but more so from viewing the hospital, meeting the midwives and getting a feel for the place. If you read all the pg books and hang around here on BB you get much of the information anyway.

You could call the hospital and ask them to send you through the info. I got it all as part of my admission paperwork.

Thanks Saffi, we're doing the weekend workshop in November as well as that night class which was a physio session. The entire thing cost us $100.00...strange.

It was a good refresher for me as I've already got a little one...it will be good for both DH and myself as he hasn't been through a baby before!!

Hope your little one arrives before the 29th!!! I'm sure all will go well.
