Do a search for breech on BB forums - have been loads of threads about breech babies in the third tri. Lots of great information and wisdom shared![]()
Hi,
I am 33 weeks tomorrow and have been told since 28 weeks that my little man is frank breech (with head and feet at the top by my belly button and bum on my cervix).
Just curious to find out how many of you with a second of subsequent bub was told that your baby was breech? And what did you do to try to turn them and did it work? If it did work how long did it take and if it didn't work did you bub turn on its own and when?
Has anyone given birth to a breech baby?
Thanks just curious about things and obviously a touch worried he won't turn even though the 3 OB's I see at my antenatal appointments have said not to worry and that they are sure he will turn.

My #2 kept changing positions and was breech at 40 weeks, but turned again before birth at 41 weeks. my midwife used rebozo to help reposition him.
My second and third babies were breech until about 36 weeks, I had some acupuncture and did positioning to encourage hubs to turn. There is still plenty of time for baby to turn.
I've heard the website "spinning babies" is really good. No first hand experience though, sorry.
This bubs was breech from 28 weeks until 34 weeks. I had to have a scan to check if bubs had turned or not & it had. I saw my chriopractor who did some gentle manupulation to encourage bubs to turn and looked up the spinning babies website but didn't do any of the things they said b/c I was waiting to see what the scan come back as first.
Other things I have heard of encouraging bubs to turn is a heat pack (just warm) down low (tummy & pelvis area).
FWIW my OBS will deliver breech, so perhaps yours will too??
Spinning babies website might have some good tips. I think people have used moxibustion and acupuncture etc with good results.
the lady who I saw for chiro when I was pregnant (and worked wonders on getting my pelvis alligned and not so painful) said that she works with lots of preggy mums to help get the baby into a good position. I'd definately find somebody who works a lot with pregnant women and get them to help you.
No advice hun but hope he turns for you![]()
I hope he turns for you Prez!
Just out of curiosity are you going to try for VB if he doesnt turn? A MW friend of mine said if you breech birth, bum first is best. Also a couple of friends of mine used acupuncture and chiro with good results.
DD2 was breech for quite a while and was back and fourth right up until 38 weeks. I went into spontaneous labour at 38+4 and she was head down then - 37 minute labour too![]()
Thanks ladies! I never did anything really to try to turn bub except to just casually crawl around on my hands and knees when helping DS tidying up his toys every arvo and put a cold pack in a face washer on my belly button so not sure whether that worked but had my OB appt this morning and was told bub is head down. He isn't engaged yet bub is head down and that's all I are about! I'm so happy and relieved!:dance;
oh wow! that is awesome news!![]()
DD (who was baby #2) was breech until just over 36 weeks. She turned on her own.
I was hoping to try for a VB (with the support of one OB at the hospital I attended) if needed.
