Ok, I am not sure how to describe where this discomfort/pain is coming from.... it feels like at the bottom of the bump where it goes back under and joins back to your body if that makes sense... it can happen standing, walking or sitting. If it's when I sit it's quite excruiciating until I can ease down and move where the baby is by holding my tummy up a bit. Walking it can take my breath away and make me stop and stoop over a bit then slowly start to walk again. I don't know if that baby is maybe squashing something like my bladder in between pubic bone and the baby or something?? It's a very sharp and stabbing pain.
I have some muscle separation but don't feel like it's that. Also had a c/s with first but don't think it's anything to do with the scar although it does concern me...it's not in line with the scar on the outside anyway. I do have a midwife appt. this Tues and will ask there too but just wanting to know if it's possibly something serious or if others have got or had this?? Sometimes it hurts that much that it makes me want to cry - it's usually rather sudden. The other night it was like a continuous dull ache but my whole tummy had felt tender that day.
Forgot to mention that I have had a successful VBAC 2 years ago so that's why I don't think it is to do with the c/s scar. I hope that this makes sense and sorry it's turned out a bit long. I think I covered it all.
hi, i'm not sure if this is the same thing you've been experiencing, but i had a awful sudden, sharp stabbing pain which felt like it was near where my ovaries are, a few times in the last month. it would just come upon me, once when i rolled over in bed, putting my make-up on, and even getting in the car. it was so painful all i could do was stoop over the sink or just lay still or sit still till it went away, daring not to move.
i saw my gp who said it was ligament pain and quite common. fortunately (fingers crossed) it's since gone away and i only experienced this about 5-6 times.
if it is the same thing it was very painful but they told me not to worry.
Hey babe, its probably nothin huh. I had a really really sharp pain near my section scar when preggers and I thought for sure it was because it was coming apart!!!!
But nope - just muscles trying to stretch down there and running into scar tissue (thats what my OB said anyway)
Mine went away eventually!! I think it was around the same time you are at now.
Of course - if you are concerned, talk to someone about it babe.
Hi Ozziehoffy
Without getting more info I cannot be 100% sure but I think that it is either:-
The stretching of your ligaments/muscles
Or
Your pubic bone. During your pregnancy your body produces a hormone called relaxin. This hormone causes all your joints and ligaments to relax. Your pubic bone has a joint in the centre of it which does not normally move. However, for some women, this joint can become loose under the influence of relaxin. When this happens the edges of the joint rub together causing pain. The pain is usually a sharp stabbing type pain and happens more often when you or your baby moves.
I don’t think that your pain is related to your CS scar.
Thanks girls! I don't remember it with Oskar...doesn't mean it didn't happen though!!
Alan, thanks to you too! If you want to feel free to ask more questions! It does happen more when either myself or the baby moves. Sometimes the baby moves and feels like it rubs an arm or something across the area from one side to the other and it is quite uncomfortable when that happens. The pain is right down low and from one side to the other...so could it still be the pubic bone like you think?? That wouldn't just create pain in the centre? One would think 3rd time round you'd know huh...lol.
