    bassinette, cot or pram??

Just wondering what everyone else is planning on doing when bub is born re:sleeping arrangements.

Last baby slept in my room in a washing basket! we really needed a bassinette but decided not to get one and regretted it. However this time i need to keep bub in with me a lot longer due to lack of space in toddler's room. Anyone had any good experiences hiring a basinette and from whom? Or maybe a brand recommendation to buy? any other suggestions or tips?

    thanks all!

I havent had a bassinet before either but this time I wanted one so I hired one from "Hire for baby."

I wanted to hire the capsule as well and they offer newborn packages.
So I got the capsule for six months, the bassinet and a papasan swing for three months.
Everything is very clean and in excellent condition so I recommend them.

Their website shows everything they have and the prices as well.

I see that you are on Brissy northside. There is a Hire-for-Baby franchise at Mitchelton and the lady running it has some really great quality stuff (it is like brand new!). We hired a swing from her and it was in tip-top shape. Give her a call and ask her what she has available.

I am not sure if she would stock it, but i can highly recommend the King Parrot bassinet. It is larger than most and will probably accommodate bubs for a bit longer.

Hi I am pregnant with number 5 and I can recommend an amby baby hammock as the best baby bed ever. I only discovered this by the third baby and sleeping was a breeze as baby felt like it was still in the womb....a must have that i will be using again

I used just a cot for my 1st bub, but got a tetra bed to go in the cot for my 2nd and loved it...so will use it again for my next one...

I have a bassinet and used it for a week or so, but bub kept rolling into the side and hated it, so it's just sitting in the bub's room till I can get rid of it...

I like the tetra bed as you can take it anywhere as a portable bed too...works wonders on holidays or visiting the in-laws.

we only have the one bub so we brought a cot which is in our bedroom, she sleeps in there .
we also have a pram with a capsule in it which she loves to sleep in during the day or sometimes when she wont settle we put the capsule in the cot at night and she will sleep in that.

we also have what we call a day bed its a soft style carry bed like a bassinet i guess , we put it on the lounge and she will nap in that as well , so its near us and we can move it around with us as well

Really babies can sleep in anything as long as its safe.
i think u can care bassinets and also check on ebay iv seen some cheap ones on there u just have to look out for them so u can snap one up
