    Remind me...

Is period like cramping normal in the third trimester?

    I can't remember.

I had loads of period-type cramping this time, none with DD. I just figured I was finally noticing Braxton Hicks. I often woke up thinking "Uh oh, AF arriving today" only to remember that was impossible lol.

The good thing is it meant everything was well and truly ready on time and I had a speedy efficient labour.

    Thanks for the replies!

I have definite Braxton hicks, this is more period like, like what you said Teeki. It's a "oh AF is coming!" Feeling.

Good to hear it's all normal.

It's crazy how much you forget even in such a short time!

Only just saw this... I have BH & period like cramps, very different from each other. Ob sent me to the hospy to get checked and had a scan on Friday (already scheduled) to check cervix etc they were worried for an irritable uterous, but think they were being overly cautious. Don't think it happens to most women but does happen. How far are you? I can't tell as I'm on tapatalk.

    I'm 32 weeks tomorrow.

What are the signs/ concerns with an irritable uterus?

I think the cramping "labour like pains" early on, I didn't have it but have the cramping my ob thinks it could be bub moving down and my SPD being irritated, I think it's just body preparing. I had a fast labour for #1 and expect my body is preparing for a fast labour for #2. If your worried talk to your caregiver... FYI I didn't have it in first pg so could be a second time round thing.
