    Bleeding after internal

How long is it normal to bleed after an internal?
I had one last night, and still fresh blood this morning, although, not a heck of a lot, and just wondering how long peoples bleed for.
Is there some point in which i should call the hospital. I am not overly concerned, but, more just curious, and i suppose worried that what i am thinking is normal, just might not be. IYKWIM?

    Good morning mum2bee,

I had an internal the other day and didn't bleed. I'd maybe call the hospital and see what they say?!?

    Hugs,

I had an internal on Wednesday and has some blood stained mucous. It could be the start of your mucous plug coming away....... but call the hospital to make sure.

I would call and ask if they did a S&S because an internal shouldn't make you bleed. They could have done that, or just from feeling the cervix it could have dislodged a bit of the mucous plug.

ok. 2 weeks ago, i had an internal, and no bleeding. He did tell me that i could have some this time. Its sorta more of a brown colour now, similar to that implantation bleed colour. Not mucasy thou.

I bled a little after my TVU - maybe I have a slighter more sensitive cervix or something? It's normal for me but if you are worried you should call.

that might be it as well. As i do bleed on occasion after DTD as well, esp in the first few months of preg.

If they did a S&S - would i have know the difference between that an a normal internal? S&S sounds really horrid.

Bleeding after an internal is not all that unusual especially if the Dr was a little rough. You have many very small blood vessels down there that are easily damaged. Your bleeding should only be a very small amount more like spotting. If it does not slow down after a few hours after the internal or continue or more than 2 days or if it is more than light spotting then you should get it checked
