braxton hicks, how many is normal?

Ok I know I have posted already about being 28 weeks & having braxton hicks & have been told it's pretty much normal BUT how many a day is normal?
Today for eg, I have had at least 15 surely this can't be normal!
My belly really has dropped from 2 weeks ago as well, I really am trying not to worry but it's kinda hard when you have so many a day so there a constant reminder.
I am still working 4 days a week & it's really strange when your serving a customer & you have one, lol.

Some days i had 30, some days 1. And i could feel them from around 14 weeks too so i know what you mean about it being awkward at work.

My midwife told me if they were painful and i had more than 4 in an hour to give her a call but if they weren't painful or they were less frequent than that to totally ignore them, UNLESS they were very painful but infrequent (like really ouchy, not just a bit uncomfy - mine were a little uncomfy late in pregnancy). They're doing work helping to limber your uterus up for labour, so greet them with positivity and don't worry hun.

    hi Jo

when i was pregnant with my last baby i was exactly the same as you some of mine were very painful and i remember having them sometimes from 3 to 4 an hour to 10 and hour they did get stronger and last a long time as well the further along i got.

as long as they aren't very painful or last longer than a minute and coming regularly like every few minutes and you don't feel pressure then don't worry its just the body preparing the way for birth. also they should disappear if you walk around

when i was about 34 weeks one day i had them very strong all day and they got very painful and i could feel pressure i was getting really worried and i went to bed to lie down thinking if they didnt ease off ild be heading to the hospital. the next day i had my appointment in the hospital and after i explained to doc she examined me and said i was 2 centimeters and 80% effaced i was admitted and given steroid injections she said either ild deliver early or when i do go in to labour i would deliver very quickly either way to get my self in as fast as i could if labour happened i ended being induced1 week early for diabetes and i delivered extremely quick 2 hours. they broke my waters and next i knew i had a baby in my arms

so try not to worry to much about them and if in doubt call the hospital or go in and they will check you.

I had lots of BHs as well. From early on they would affect me by taking my breath away but not painful.

Towards the end of my pregnancy i had them all the time. I was told that the more i had the better.

My midwife explained that it was my uterous practicing and trying to coordinate itself so that when labour starts the contractions are more effective.

At 38 weeks I had them so often when i had my checkup my midwife said i was already 3cm dilated!! Woo hoo.

Good luck with it all - its all very very normal.

Yep I got them alot I had a bunch of really agonising ones that the dr said was as a result of my stomach muscles stretching apart at about 18weeks and then got the not so painful "tight belt" feeling ones every day, they don't huty much. Was told the more the better and is the uterus getting ready for the big day and not to worry unless REALLY awfully painful or accompanied with blood.
