    Question Car Rides and Braxton-Hicks?

Has anyone else noticed an increase in braxton-hicks contractions when you're riding/driving in a car? I find within a few minutes I'm having regular contractions! But I'm not sure if they're actually happening all the time during the day, and car rides are when I can sit down and notice them (life's pretty busy around here!) or if there is actually something about the car that seems to trigger the contractions.
    What have you noticed?

Yep, I am the same. I think it is being confined and not being able to move around much. Also maybe the seat belt? When we drive it is often into town and thats over an hour in the car each way - thats when my hips get really cranky as well as setting of BH. Mine come and go but I wouldnt describe them as regular.

Yes! I was the same as you. I found it didn't matter whether I was driver or passenger sitting up or laying down (had a few scares which ended with an ambulance ride).

From my house to the shops is apporx 5 min drive and in that time I'd easily have 2-3 BH's.

I actually had my first incidence of BH's in the car today, driving for about 2 minutes then they started up.....Im well known for the amount of BH's I get late in pregnancy but have never had trouble driving before.
This lot of BH's has come along a lot earlier this time too....usually they kick in about the 34-35 week mark, now here I am at 30 wks and they've started up....usually when Ive been busy with my 3 y.o or with housework, they get going.
Ive found a good way to combat discomfort when driving is to move your seat forward but the back part of the seat back, so you arent all squished up, if that makes sense! I find that if the back part of the seat is further back than you would normally have it you are able to stretch out a wee bit more.

I actually commented on this to DH last night...joked that maybe I just need to ride around in the car until I go into labour

I do get them plenty at other times too though.
