At what stage did you drop? I am 31 weeks tomorrow with my first, and yesterday I suddenly noticed bub seemed to be much lower than she was the day before. A women in a lift with me told me I looked about ready to pop (but she then told me I looked beautiful, so I won't hold it against her ).
I just wondered whether this is early, or whether it's just another one of those things where there's a huge variation between pregnancies/women and that this is somewhere on the continuum of "normal"
I never noticed a drop either (well I thought I did but I think I was imagining it ) My son didn't engage AT ALL though so that could have been why.
Babies can move in and out of being engaged as you get closer to term. I wouldn't stress about it hun. Its a good sign (given my experience) that your baby is head down and able to engage. I think the timing is one of those "variations" between women/pregnancies. Your bub could stay engaged for the next 6 weeks or more without a problem.
my DD dropped at 35 weeks and there she stayed until 38+1. was cool but also really annoying trying to walk and sit down when there is your baby's head in the way LOL!
Kaz, I'm very impressed that she went head down at 28 weeks - and she's been quite a gentle kicker too, so I've been lucky!!!
As for feeling more uncomfortable, I've had a lot of round ligament discomfort right through the second tri, and because she's been head down for a few weeks now, she's been playing with my bladder a bit too! I do feel the need to go to the toilet more often (without much result).
neither of my babies engaged until i was well into labour, they were both posterior, my son spun around about 20mins before i had him and THEN dropped..OUT lol, my DD spun round about 5hrs before and started descending then
