Shell, back pain can be a sign of labour. Can you contact the hospital and explain to them what is happening. I would espect they would ask you to come in and get checked out. It is better to be safe than sorry iykwim. Goodluck and I hope all turns out ok, and it is just some stretching. If you dont want to talk to the midwifes go to your gp. hugs
Shell, I'd check it out hun just for a piece of mind if anything. I'm 23 weeks along, and last weekend I had 'cramping AF pains' and they lasted for 4 days. I freaked out and emailed my OB and he siad that if the pain gets worse or keeps on going for a few more days to call him. He said that b/c bub was moving around heaps that was a good sign. Fortunately the pain stopped on Wednesday last week, but I was really freaking out. I have had a really sore back for a few weeks now, but my belly is all out the front and I have a bad curveture in my spine so I expect some pain, but somedays I feel like I can't walk for too long as it's sooooo painful (I ended up getting myself one of those back/tummy braces which has been great).
Check it out hun, it's probably nothing but better make sure for your piece of mind.
It's so hard knowing what's normal and what's not in pg isn't it? You could have round ligament pain, I get it on either side and it's like stabbing/pinching pain. When my belly was crampy (above my pubic bone like AF pain) I was worried as I didn't know if that was normal. I've learnt to tell the difference between crampy pain and ligament pain now. The shooting pain down your leg sounds what I get too, mine shoots from my lower back into my bum and then down my leg. Lovely!
The other thing I was going to tell you is that when I'm constipated (which is a lot of the time) I get crampy feeling in my belly from that too. When I have a bowel movement, the pain goes sway so I figure it's from the poo being stuck (sorry TMI!!). Has your pain improved in any way?
How did you go yesterday?? Did you get it all checked out??
Always good to stay on the safe side.
I had the shooting pains down my leg with DD as she was sitting on a nerve and sometimes my leg would stop working for a sec and I'd come close falling over!
As the other ladies have said it's so hard to know whats normal, especially with your first preg, just stay relaxed and ring the hossy as many time as you feel you need dear.
Take care and let us know how you're going.
Hi Guys, i called the hossy yesterday, they spoke to me for ages going over everything
they are pretty sure its just ligament pain and the leg pain is like you guys said nerve pain.
as i was not having any regular tightening patterns just here and there sort of thing she said i could come in if i wanted but other wise to just see how i go and come in if i feel i need to.
i didnt go in lol
i felt a bit better last night after a warm bath, but i still have tummy pains ,and the leg pain comes and goes as well..Maybe im constipated as well, that wouldnt surprise me if that was causing the pain as well.
its all so hard to know what is what when u have never felt these things before , u could send yourself crazy
so girls im ok for now fingers crossed that its nothing to worry about and its all just stretching pains and all the extras
