Question Could it have been my waters??

I'm feeling a little silly about this question, but here goes:

I woke up last night around 4am to go to the toilet. I had just come out of a really deep sleep so was a bit zombie like. Anyway I went to the toilet and while sitting on the toilet noticed a large puddle on the floor in front of the toilet. It was about 50cm X 20cm and it didn't smell like urine or anything else really. I don't think it was there when I walked in as I would have had to walk through it. I cleaned it up and went back to bed thinking that maybe the toilet was leaking as we have had some plumbing issues since moving into this house. So I got up this morning and went to check and the floor was completely dry, I mentioned it to DH and he said the toilet bowl can't leak at the front unless it's cracked + we replaced the whole toilet in September so it's almost brand new.

I am now left with, what if my waters broke??? Would I know, wouldn't it run down my legs or I would feel it come out?? I didn't have undies on either

Last time I had my waters broken in hospital so this is all new to me.

    Any thoughts?? Thanks Ladies

My waters broke and the midwives and Dr's didn't think they had (thats a whole other story) and I leaked for nearly a week, had to wear a pad until I went into labour, and even then my ob didn't believe me because it didn't smell like amniotic fluid
They told me I had a bladder malfunction.
Are you leaking at all? If you're not sure about it i'd ring your Dr and see what he says

Usually when your waters break they keep leaking maybe not much or all the time but you should still have some leaking. Try coughing and see if anything comes out.

My waters broke with both my babies and each was a different experience. I think a checkup would give you a bit of piece of mind.

I'd say get it checked JIC!! My experience was that I woke up in the middle of the night to do a wee, but already felt a bit damp in my pants, as I stood up, there was a huge gush and then I kept leaking for most of the next day too. Mind you, I had a lot of fluid in there! But everyone's different. COuld it be a hindwaters leak? I don't really know what that is, but have heard it a few time!! I think its where a bit of your waters come out, but then the baby blocks the rest - I could be completly wrong though!

Yeah, a hind water break is where the sac tears up high and usually towards the back which means it only trickles out slowly, especially if baby then moves to block the tear. It should still leak every now and then though from movement so if nothing else has come out since last night.........? I'm sure your OB will be able to tell you.
    Excited for you though!

    Thanks everyone for the info

I haven't had any leaking since just the usual discharge, so at this point the puddle remains a mystery. I'm due today so hopefully i'll see some action soon

    Thanks again ladies!!
