Update:
Hi girls!! I felt a few niggles around 9pm last night so they put me on the monitors as my partner & mum were supposed to be going home. I was having 3 contractions in 10 minutes that I had to concentrate through, lasting around 40 seconds. The doctor was supposed to examine me at 11pm but they decided that since I was contracting they would give me 2 panadine forte and a sleeping tablet and send everyone home for some rest. Worked a treat as I got around 5 hours sleep, only waking occasionally because of a pain. They seem to have dropped right off now only lasting around 20 seconds and easily manageable. The midwife said last night she thinks the doctor will start induction this morning with either a membrane rupture or the drip or a combination of the two. I hope the gel did enough so that they can break my waters as they didnt even check me last night to see if I needed more gel applied :(
So now I'm going to jump in the shower, have a nice hot cup of tea and some breakie and prepare to meet my little man today!!
Enjoy your hot cuppa and take a long peaceful shower. It's going to be a while before you can take those things for granted again ;)
Good luck today.
The midwife has just come around and said there are 4 women in labour and it isn't looking good for them to push me into labour this morning. Now i feel like having a big cry. This is so unfair.
If there's not an emergency then it's better you are not induced.
Hang in there Jess, hope your DS arrives safely and soon!
You might do it yourself! Hang in there x
go for a big long walk, go outside and get fresh air, have a big cry if you want to, talk to your baby, it might help kick things off and it has to be more enjoyable snd better for your head than sitting in a room.
take care
A big cry can really help - like the others have said, go for a walk, have a cry and let it all out.
Can you get some sleep?
How is the monitoring going on bubs? Are they still moving around?
I agree with the others, if you can get out and get some fresh air it will help. Also move around as much as you can. Moving will help push things along and keep things moving.
Sleep is also a good thing because if your little bub is coming today you may miss out on some sleep! :)
Hope all is ok hun, I agree with MadB, perhaps get some shut eye as you're going to need it!
Loads of
woohoo for things starting to happen! Go baby and mama! :leap:
Are you feeling ok physically? Not too tired? If you are feeling pretty good I'd keep moving, a nice leisurely walk in the sunshine, if you have a fit ball there maybe some bouncing if that feels comfortable or sort of rocking into it, moving your hips lots to get your pelvis nice and elastic and ready for channelling a baby. :)
'Smith Alexander' was born today in a very dramatic and traumatic way for all. He is healthy and snuggled up with his daddy. I will put up my birth story in the next few days!
1st stage - 2 hours exactly
2nd stage - 13 minutes
3rd stage - 8 minutes
Apgars 2 & 9
Thank you for the support ladies! I'm looking outward to sharing my story with you and hopefully make some peace with it all. Xx
Oh Jessikah, congratulations on the arrival of your little boy :heartbeat: I'm sorry it didn't go well, I look forward to reading your birth story and hopefully seeing you heal from the trauma  Welcome to the world, little Smith, your mummy's been through a lot to bring you earthside!
Congratulations Jessikah and your DH and little man Smith :)
