Hi I am nearly 32 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes a week ago since them having been needing to keep track of my blood glucose which I now follow a low carb low fat diet for. My glucose levels seem to therefore come out low. But I have lost two kg since being on this special diet. So I am not sure what is happening there.
I think my appetite is normal but I guess I am used to be eating all the time, espcially chocolate and stuff with fat content, so I am not too sure as to why it is happening.
any ideas. (plus it is not easy not too eat for two hours after the main meals, which is hard to get used to too) I am also not one of those people who eats a big breakfast or a huge lunch nor dinner, it is just too much. I try to eat lots of snack, but yeah...
hi Sidney, i was also diagnosed with GD a few weeks ago (im now 34 weeks). I have been eating every 2-3 hours and being careful with my carbs. Ive also tried to do a half hour a day of exercise. i found personally that its the exercise that makes the most difference in bringing my numbers down. im also on one dose of insulin a night. i also have lost a bit of weight, but its mostly in areas where i dont need it! ie my backside and thighs, so im happy!!!
there is a thread that is dedicated to gestational diabetes, with lots of other girls in there with lots of good advice...here is the link...
