Unhappy Diarrhea & pains all over, what to do????

    Hi,
I woke up yesterday morning with bad stomach aches, thought maybe my little one was deciding to come early again, but after an hour or two I found out the real reason, when I just made it to the toilet in time. Since then I have been going all the time, really really runny ones (SORRY FOR TMI), everything that I seem to eat is just going straight through. Thought I would try having some toast this morning for breakfast, but as soon as I had 1 piece I was back onto the loo.
Anyway last night when I went to bed, my body was just aching all over, my back, my legs, my thighs but I thought this may be my daughters 1st birthday party taking its toll on me, but I'm still getting the cramps. Just wanting to know if it sounds like a gastro bug to you all, and what do you recommend I could be doing to help the aches and the toilet trips to ease up. It is killing me
    Thanks

It sounds gastro to me and all you can do is keep up fluids and rest. I know it's hard with a baby to look after. I'd also suggest panadine. My midwives told me to take that to try to firm up the stools when I had a tummy bug with DD#2. If you are worried call the midwives. They can suggest something or get you in to check everything is ok. I hope you feel better soon honey

I had the worst case of gastro when I was PG and it was from both ends I was flattened for 2 days so I'm really feeling for you.

Braxton hicks can come on when you're feeling tired or run down so it could be them. Get yourself off to the Dr or ring the midwives JIC.

Keep up the fluids as you don't want to dehydrate. Be wary of a headache as that is a sign of dehydration.

    Hope you're feeling better soon

Thanks guys for your help. Do you have any idea how long I can expect this to hang around? I just tried eating some lunch, and only made it half way through before I ran back to the toilet.

Mel, 48hrs roughly for the worst of it then a day or two more. Just keep up fluids. I often find eating does the same thing and I end up back on the loo if I have gastro. Just drink plenty and have saos if you are starving.... give it a day or so and then slowly introduce toast and go from there
