    Question Diarrohea & Labour

Just wondering, is it a 100% of women whos labour starts off by diarrohea? Or is it another one of those - some women yes, some women no, type things?

I didn't have any loose poos at all with Olivia (spontaneous labour at 41 weeks).

With Charlie I was induced and I puked and pooed for an hour before my waters broke....awful.......

With Lexie things were loose but not diarrohea.......for about a week prior to giving birth.......(I had a lot of pre-labour with her.....)

So I guess it must vary.......

I started labour, not with the runs but with a cleaned out system so to speak with my first. And that's where it ended. I was completely blocked up with my labour with Tehya, which hindered me somewhat. Nothing that an enema couldn't fix.

Better to be empty to start with though

I think for sure, like most things, what happens to one woman doesn't always happen to the next.

    Goodluck hun.

With DS no, With DD yes. I woke up with "poo" pains and went to the toilet with diarrhea(tmi) and that's when labour started. Do you think you might be going/in labour? I hope it's not too far of if not.

It can be a sign of labour, but I don't think you can rely on this. I say that b/c I had diarrohea for one day last week and I haven't gone into labour.

its just that i havent had it, and that last night, i was so sure i was close to going into labour, but, i kept thinking, nope, i havent had any diarrohea yet, cant be time. Have been more regular thou then normal. But, have gone back to eating ceral for breaky, rather then toast, so, that may be the reason.

Dumb question - is an enema where they stick a tube up your bum and flush it out?

They can do an enema like that. But generally it's just like a suppository, only a little small capsule like thing that they or you can insert into your backside.
