Do vijayjay's normally change?

Today I thought i'd clean myself up a bit and do my acrylic's, exfoliate my body, soak in my oil and do my brazilian. To my horror, when i got to my brazilian, my vijayjay looks totally different and quite disgusting! I was really shocked! TMI AHEAD... But it was open and stuff that was never there before was there! It's kind of like coming out as disgusting as that sounds. We haven't had sex for so long due to my vajayjay being so freaking sore, so it's definately not from sexual activity.... Is this normal or could this be a prolapse? Will it ever go back to the way it used to be? Has this happened to anyone else?

um, to be honest with you i haven't seen my own vagina for so long now that i have no idea what it looks like. it is so covered with jungle bush and my stomach is so big!!! LOL we haven't had sex for months either so i really have no idea. i think that it can become a bit swollen at this time though and there is more blood flow to the area so maybe this is what's affecting you.

Hun... its all normal....member ur body is going thru a lot of changes!! They do go back to normal.....and i even had time to be normal before getting preg again!! LOL

Yes and it is NORMAL! as we get closer to the big day, there is a lot of extra blood flow to the area and it is just preparing itself in a way for the birth. With my first baby, it didn't really change that much until two days before his birth - DH commented that by looking at it, he would be surprised if I didnt' have the baby within the next two days and he was right. Dh has pulled many calves and lambs on the farm and he said you can always tell when a cow is about to birth as her vulva starts protruding and looking really puffy (I hate having to use that analogy but it really is true).

With my subsequent pg's it has happened a lot earlier, but still gets super puffy right before labour starts.

If you are worried about it being sore, it wouldn't hurt to talk to your care provider about it JIC it isn't innocent kwim? but I am sure that's all it is.

LOL Sherie! I thought the same way as your husband- Before I gave birth that's what it reminded me of too! It really is very similar to when cows are about to have a calf! Guess we are animals too aren't we

hi i too have a very sore vijayjay and have tried to look into reasons behind this. i feel lots of pressure when i stand for long periods of time etc. Have you heard of Variocose veins of the vulva? they are quite common during pregnancy and can often give the impression of a prolapse. maybe you should ask yor OB or GP to have a look to be sure but if so they normally go away on their own after bub is born. i have read that you can wear some sort of support garment but as i said i have only just started to look into this as i am feeling lots of discomfort which i didn't have with my 1st pg. Dont stress just get checked out if you are worried i'm sure your body is still beautiful. The varicose vein thing so is just the first thought that sprung to my mind so this may not be the case, i dont mean to scare or upset you. I couldn't see mine when last pg and have already lost sight of it again so have no idea what i look like. Maybe like the others said you are just swollen and getting ready for the big day.

I expected all that swelling of the outside of my vagina and stuff.. and i mean it looks normal when i'm standing up and look in the mirror, it was when i had my legs open (hussy!) the insides of my vagina are coming out... like inside inside... I don't want to say it at the risk of being too rude!

Nat - i don't stand for long periods of time... I'm a lady of lesuire(SAHW)!

Im glad you have this post Catherine!! I thought it was just me! It must be really normal though if a lot of us are experiencing it (as gross as it sounds!) I dont remember having it with my DS though, thats why I thought "Eeek, is something wrong?" Hope it doesnt take too long to go back to normal. I also experience a lot of that pressure when I stand for long periods of time!

I agree with everyone. The increased blood flow to our vagina prepares for the upcoming birth thus the prolapse look. I, too, find it really really disgusted looking at the mirror. Some days, I just feel like turning the mirror aside so that I don't have to look at it when I get out from the shower. DH never said anything about it, but I just feel very unattractive with my body's tremendous changes. Like Becky mentioned, I too experience pressure when I stand for a long period of time. But don't worry, what you're going through is perfectly normal!

sounds pretty normal to me, i have had six kids and my vija always looks like that, and it does go back to normal

It may look disgusting at the moment but unfortunately this is normal. The good news is that it will return to normal in time

ROFL - Thanks guys! I never thought it was 'pretty' to begin with... but now i just get freaked out by looking at it - so my lesson learnt is... don't look at it

ETA - I am so naieve, i think i just thought that the vajayjay just spits out this kid without any preparation or anything... But now it's all starting to make sense! LOL... It's just getting itself ready!
