    Dull period-like cramps?

All day today I've had a dull, period-like cramp going on. My periods are very painful, so it's not definitely not as bad as my normal AF pains, but it's noticeable and uncomfortable enough. I haven't experienced any BH's so I don't know if it's that, but it's a constant dull ache and when I feel my belly there are no tightenings or anything. My lower back has also been sorer than normal today and my legs are aching. Is this just normal third trimester aches and pains?

I had something very similar around 30 weeks and my OB told me it was pre-labour pains. They came and went right up until full term, along with BHs.

Looks like your body is just getting ready for the big day, preparing early

Wow really!? Geez I'm only 27 weeks, I don't want no pre-labour yet lol! Thanks for replying It's not comfortable at all. Being reminded of AF when pregnant is just plain weird!

It is weird, isn't it! I had all sorts of aches and pains the whole way through my PG (including frequent BHs from 16 weeks!) which was a bit freaky but also kind of nice knowing my body was doing it's 'thing' IYKWIM. I'd ask my OB at every appointment thinking I'd go into early labour at any second and he'd just chuckle at me and tell me to relax as it's all very normal and great that my body was doing the right stuff.

Definitely bring it up with your midwife though at your next appointment. And I'm sure you would anyway, but pop in for a quick checkup if it's really bothering you.

That's what my pre labour stuff was like too, very uncomfortable. Try and rest up to see if it eases.

Not really. I've been in bed for a few hours now, the period pain is still very dull, but back and leg ache is same/a little worse. And I've been having a lot of pressure in my vajayjay too Good times!

If it gets worse I might give my midwife a call, but I'm not worried at this stage. Isla is still kicking around etc, atm I'm just putting it down to bub getting bigger and my body having to deal with more. I might make up a hot water bottle for my back though! Or a nice warm shower, mmmm that'd be nice thanks guys! If I get more uncomfy I'll call someone, but for now I think it's probably just a new level of discomfort that up until now, I hadn't encountered

It sounds quite normal to me, chick, but obviously if it's causing you concern then give your care providers a call and ask if you can go get checked out just to put your mind at ease Can't believe you're 27 weeks already, gosh that's flown!! x

When I get that constant period like pain I put it down to the extra weight of the baby and all that jazz... but best to ask if in doubt... I've been doing a lot of that :-)

Just throwing it out there... any chance you could have a bladder infection?

Thanks guys! Well I took a nap after my last post...3 hours ago, and just woke up! Sooooo, I was pretty tired! Cramps are gone and back and leg pain has gone back to it's usual low key ache (can't wait to see re physio!).

Nope, no temp. I often check, because I'm paranoid about bladder infections and listeria etc etc, but it's shockingly average. For the last week or so I've been feeling much more tired again, I've had to nap in the afternoon again like the first tri!!

PZ - welcome to 3rd tri! When you start to waddle cos there is a baby rammed between your legs, toiletry visits become hourly (if not already), nanna naps become the new black, and bub has a foot constantly footballing your ribs. I laugh, I get braxton hicks, I cough, braxton hicks, and I roll over in bed funny, yes, braxton hicks! The only consolation I can offer is that this is the long end of the stick, once this is over, you actually have your baby, rather than first tri, where you still have all this to look forward to.

Good luck sweetie (but on a serious note, if the pains get more regular, you get a show or weird mucousy stuff "down there" like what you would cough up with a cold, or any leaking, then pay a quick visit to GP or MW - better safe than sorry, particularly at 27 weeks babes).
