Ear infection at 33.5 weeks? Bad or indifferent?

    Hi all,

I have a horrid feeling that I'm getting an ear infection and I'm not much sure what to do about it or whether it will be bad for my pregnancy?

I haven't had an ear infection in years but I've just fallen asleep on the couch with a very sore ear! I'm living in hope that its just from lying under the airconditioning but in the event it isn't, how bad is or isn't this? I was going to google it but I'm so good at frightening the living daylights out of myself with google that I thought I was probably better off just posting here

Fingers crossed its gone in the morning but thought I'd get in and ask now!

I'm pretty sure it's ok. I had a minor ear infection earlier in my pg and the doctor gave me some mild antibiotics. I asked that they were ok in pg and he said there are several sorts of category b (low risk) antibiotics that pg women can take. If it gets worse, go to the doctor!

Thanks! I definitely will do. It hasn't gotten better but hasn't gotten worse so I'm just keeping an eye on it now, but its good to know!
