    EFW Meaning?

As some of you might have read.. I had a less than impressive OB appointment on tuesday which has left me with my antenatal notes that I dont understand. It says "EFW 98% (with 98% underlined)"... After some googling I think the EFW means estimated fetal weight (as I had a growth scan last week) but whats with the 98%?

If you ring your ob and ask the receptionist or the nurse it might be more efficient and accurate than googling.

If say 98% would be the size percentile... The same as the kids have in their blue books. My growth scan showed H man was 100% meaning a HUGE bub.. But he was only 9pd 1... They like to scare us about bib bubs when going for a VBAC!

98th centile means that if there's 100 babies, yours would be the 98th biggest.
I had the opposite problem where DD was on the 3rd centile and still is.
    Good luck!

Thanks girls. I ended up asking them and that was exactly what it meant!
