A few days left to go and bubs has started getting a bit frisky. I'm just wondering if anyone else has has experienced their bubs having crazy erratic movement for hours at a time this late in pregnancy? I was always under the impression that there wasn't much room in there and that babies tend to slow down before labour. I can't say that I noticed anything odd when labour approached with my other kids but this baby will go crazy for up to an hour (so that my stomach doesn't look round at all - limbs protruding everywhere and dips and bumps all over) then stop, then do it again. I haven't felt anything as strong as these movements with any of my other kids. I called the hospital last night and they said they didn't think it anything to worry about but I still feel concerened.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Could the baby be in distress? I was told I could go down to be monitored at any time but don't want to make a fuss over nothing. My other kids were all late too (5 days, 12 days then 10 days) so I'm not expecting this baby to arrive for another few weeks, though OB has advised the placenta shows it may be a little sooner.
Basically just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar and if it was all ok? Need something to ease my mind
I had the same thing last night.... I'm due the day before you so maybe it was the moon or something!!? I'm not too concerned about it, I just put it down to him having more room in there and getting maneovered into a good possy to come out!!
Don't stress too much but keep in touch with your midwife if it helps!
For the last 2 weeks I have had the same thing, Bubs is in there going wild all evening, and during the morning (much slower or I am not noticing as much) during the middle of the day...
I wondered if it was something crazy or something I was eating/drinking...
I asked my ob the same thing last week, when is this baby going to slow down and stop going berko, its going nuts and my stomach is constantly being stretched at some angle with bits jabbing out everywhere, and its like its having fits jumping around. DD was no where near this. She laughed and said most do but its okay if they dont, they are just active. I keep having a talk with bubs and telling it that there is no room left for dancing anymore and it kinda hurts mummy.
The only thing she said to keep an eye on was where the little bits a kicking and protruding. If it is all down the middle and front, then bubs is probably posterior cause it means limbs, bits right out the side are okay, but the big hard lump is best somewhere on the front, then bub is anterior. DD turned posterior during labour and didnt turn back so its something I have been keeping an eye on this time, and this baby is swinging around that many times a day its not funny, I am struggling to keep it facing the right way. She did mention though that swinging around can reduce the chances of going early because constant pressure isnt being placed on the cervix.
Since this little fella started making noticable movements he's been a real mover! And he hasn't slowed up a bit! We have less than 4 wks left. It's been much different than DD. She moved a bit here and there but nothing like this one. I thought he'd be running out of room in there, and he's a bigger baby but nope, he's got plenty of room it seems!
