    Unhappy need you opinions please

so everything was going good today, untill i started to feel a bit odd in the tummy and abdomon area.

first it started with the constant need to pee (and i mean it was heavy and alot), also have a little bit more of discharche to....sorry if its to much info

then i felt like i was getting really heavy down in my abdomon and like i had a hole lot of gas that needed to come out (sorry again

Now im getting really tense and having a few pains and feeling like im all tense inside.

it also feels like a big strain when i stand up inside my abdomon.

is this just symptoms of braxton hicks contraction (please tell me its just that)

i dont want to call the midwife if its just braxton hicks, that and the pain isnt actually that bad

Braxton hicks are uncomfortable, and usually settle down when you rest, have a bath, or take some Panadol. It also sounds like bub is moving down into pelvis, possibly starting to engage. Which is fantastic news if that is what's happening (and normal too).

The more they engage, the more pressure it is on your pelvis, so he's probably engaging further. When Emily started engaging, the pressure was so intense I thought she was going to fall out! And I had about 4 weeks of that. Have you got a manual labour job, or a desk job? Do what you can to relax at work, or take Panadol. If it doesn't ease up after Panadol, then a call to your midwife certainly wouldn't hurt.

I remember in my last week or so at work (I worked til 37 weeks) I was constantly having to wee. I also had the feeling that I needed to either fart or do a poo - but when I got to the loo didn't actually need to. Does this sound like what's happening to you? If so then it's probably just the normal preparation as you head towards birth. I don't remember getting any pain with it though.

The tenseness & pain you are describing are most likely to be caused by BH but if it gets worse you might like to go home and take it easy. If the pain gets regular you might want to have a chat with the midwife.

I am currently experiencing all that at the moment. According to my ob (who I saw yesterday), bubs is just getting ready for his or her big arrival. It is very uncomfortable and I am hoping that something is finally happening!!

Every baby and pregnancy is different. With my first DD, she started engaging at 32 weeks. With my second DD, she started engaging at 36 weeks. Some babies don't engage until labour has started.
