Feels like Baby is shaking or vibrating

    Hi all,

Just wanted to find out if anyone has felt this feeling before. I have never felt this with any of my others pregnancies, so would be interested to know if anyone has felt this shaking or vibrating feeling. It only lasts for a little while and not all that often, but it is such a weird feeling.

I am sure it isnt hiccups as that feels different. Anyone have any ideas? I have been reading on the net that some think it maybe baby crying. So if it is may have a sooky baby lol.

    TIA,

Baby shudders a bit sometimes. I think it's when it tries to move quickly and maybe gets a bit stuck? I don't really know what it is, but DS did the same thing at times

I experienced baby shudders when I was UTD. My MW told me that it was baby's nerve cells developing, making their limbs spontaneously shudder as they grew.

I had the same thing with V. I thought she was fitting or something but my ob assured me they cannot do that in utero. I did notice though that when V was a newborn she used to shake her foot really fast and I swear that is what I felt... I used to get it up between my ribs where her foot would have been. How exciting for you! I miss being pregnant....sigh....

Don't know about in utero, but when my best gf's DS was born he had the shakes for almost a week, particularly if he was unwrapped. The paed said it was an underdeveloped nervous system (and the little man was already a week overdue, but no wonder he didn't want to come out - he wasn't ready!). So perhaps it could have happened in utero too. My gf's placenta was at the front so she didn't feel a lot of movement.

Wow thanks for the replies, its nice to know that Im not the only one that has felt this. lol. Its really is an odd feeling.

Persephone - Thats something else I have heard, about the under developed nervous system. its very interesting.

Nattyfred - It must have been your little V's foot shaking that you felt since thats what she did once born. Will be interesting to see with my bub. Thanks too.

jen, marcellus - Its strange isnt it, Ive never felt it with my other pregnancies. Make sure you both let us know if your bubs come out shaking when they are born.

Jennifer - thanks for sharing about your BF's ds, its very interesting reading about others experiences.

Retrogal - I doubt it is bubs rolling over, its more of a quick shake.

Zaki&Amali - Thats exactly what its like, one of those vibrating balls. lol. GL with your bub and it will be interesting to see if your bub comes out shaking something too.

Danielle - LOL, thats funny, its a nice thought having a giggly bub, better than thinking bub will come out sooky. lol

Spoke to the OB today, and she had no idea. lol. Ahhh well.
