Glucose in urine at 28 weeks?

I just went for the GD test and after the urine test the pathologist said he cant do the test and has to ring my OB as I have glucose in my urine...Any thoughts? He did mention GD but didnt really want to comment further...Has anyone also had this happen?

I have put on 10 kg all up with this (my first) pg and have been feeling fine if not a little tired as expected anyway. The baby is about 1 kg estimated yesterday so is not too big.

I am going to hear from the pathologist today about what I need to do but just wondered if anyone else has experience with this kind of thing.

Glucose in your urine can be a sign of diabetes, but not always. They'll probably do some more testing to be sure. I am guessing they didn't go ahead with the test because if you do have GD they would probably rather not to overload you with the sugar drink...... They most likely check your blood sugar levels and then perhaps do the GD test if that is normal.

    Thanks Falguni,

I did another test today and same thing so my OB will have to make a call.

    Thanks again

I hope you don't have GD, but at least it is manageable thing. No more sweet treats for you if you do though! That would be a disaster for me! Let us know how you go.
