Hi guys,
Just a bit of a winge....
I thought that id been lucky with stretch marks on my belly....ive only a couple of weeks to go......but no they have started appearing this week, i just want bub to come sooner rather than later now.
I started to get stretch marks at around 32 weeks though and mine were terrible by the time I had my DS. I was so excited when my waters broke though at 38.5 wks coz I knew I wouldn't get any more stretch marks!
Mine don't worry me too much now, it's all worth it in the end!!
Yes, like with my first I was wondering if somehow I would magically not get stretch marks, but overnight they appeared! The good thing is that they do fade away with time, and at the risk of sounding cliched - they are a small price to pay for the wonderful gift of motherhood....
My BF got her strecth marks only 4 days before she gave birth. I don't think they're that bad now, a few months after birth. I think it's one of those things that is really hard to prevent and no one can tell how l;ong they will last or how bad they will be. fingers crossed - haven't got any bad ones myself - YET!!!!
O I consider myself "lucky" in the strecth mark department!!
I had strecth marks before getting pg!!! I have alot over my whole body (legs, hips, breasts) I have learned to live with it, but I must say that when I was pg, I used about 4 bottels of Bio-oil just to make sure I don't add to my collection!! Next time around, I would start early with the oil, just be 100% sure!
Mine faded heaps after ds was born. Before i got pregnant again, when he was around 14 months, you could hardly see them. I found as my skin went back to not being stretched out you really couldn't tell they were there. They just ended up a silvery line.
Nah yolly not shallow, it is natural that we all think about these things.. of course wouldnt swap having the baby for no stretchmarks or whatever other chgs we worry about but nothing wrong with wanting to minimise IMO!! best of luck, you will have your baby soon!
I noticed mine more after he was born... but they're getting a lot better as time goes on. Yolly it's not shallow, we all wish to get through without getting them!
thanks guys.... they are making me sooo itchy too im just massaging almond oil into them....so far so good just the hips not tummy yet.. fingers crossed. The lady at the health food store also said maybe i should have zinc tablets also, not sure how much i would benefit now only a couple of weeks to go.
yolly - i got my first stretch marks on my tummy at 34 weeks (just under two weeks ago) and now have about 15 of them there!! they seem to breed whenever i take my eye off them!!
they have been the cause of a lot of angst for me as i'm feeling really frumpy, and so out of touch with all of my friends (who are childless, super skinny and stretch-mark free)... i know that at the end of the day i'll have a little baby to bring me so much happiness and i won't care too much about the stretch marks, but it's still very difficult to handle when you can see your body literally falling apart around you!!
i've also had the thoughts "i wish the baby would come so that i don't get any more stretch marks and don't put on any more weight" - it's very normal, and i'm still hoping it happens - imagine how many stretch marks i could have if i go to 42 weeks - aaaghhh!!! hope that baby is nicely cooked and comes out of her own accord soon, but if she doesn't then i'm sure i'll look back in years and laugh at how worked up i got over the stretch marks...
