freaking out, really painful braxton hicks and just had a pop and gush

    Hi everyone

I am a little freaked. I have been getting braxton hicks for a few weeks now but the last few days slowly getting stronger and more painful, then all day yesterday they were coming kinda irregually but roughly every 20 mnutes. Then towards the evening they were every 5 minutes or so and really painful i was buckling over. It felt like really bad low period cramps. Now i was just chatting to a friend of facebook when i heard and felt a pop and a small gush of liquid came out. Now It's clear and doesn't smell like urine but I have been so leaky with the incontenence lately i am hesitant to think it's anything else. I am 32 weeks, does this sound just like normal symptoms of everything stretching?

Hun. I would call the hospital. That pop could have been your waters breaking. Best to be sure

I would give your midwife/OB a call. It doesn't sound normal to me......this early anyway. I don't want to worry you, but I'd definitely be giving them a call just to put your mind at ease.

The pop and gush sound very much like your waters breaking. Since your only 32 weeks i would get to the hospital right now. Ring the maternity ward and let them know what has happened too.

Fingers crossed that everything is fine.

ok i will def give the hosp a call now. thanks ladies.. I didn't think it was my waters though cos only the smallest bit came out. I thought i was meant to have a massive gush of fluid.

Yep.. definitely get yourself to the hospital. I thought I was just having braxton hicks and stomach cramps from vomiting, turned out I was labouring at 34 weeks.

That definitely sounds like waters breaking.. I hope it's just a small leak. Put a pad on so the midwives can tell if it's your waters.

From the Antenatal classes I did, I remember them saying that depending on where the baby is sitting, it could be two different ways - first being the hind waters which is the trickle and the other one being the fore water (I can't remember what it's called if it's not that) and that's the gush

I hope everything goes well Please keep us updated

I wouldn't just call - Id go in -maybe call ahead, but id want to be seen by someone. apart from the pop and gush which is reason enough at 32 weeks, 5min contractions thrown in to the mix, Id definitely want a checkup.

Thats how my waters broke. Felt like DD kicked me really hard and i thought i might have wet myself a little.. But it wasnt. It was my waters "popping" and some leaking out. She was born about 4 hours later.

So yeah, i agree.. you need to get checked. Goodluck xo

I would be going to a Hospital asap matey...

If it was your waters breaking, it smells alot like semen (sorry, but thats how our Midwife described it) and if bub's head is down low, it won't necessarily gush out as the babies head will block the hole...but infections can happen if not checked out.

take care and let us know how you are going...

xxx best wishes for you and bubs...xxx mez

It is possible that it was your waters breaking, sometimes just your for or hind waters can break separately . Take care hun xxoo
