Fundal height measuring - Alan maybe?

I was wondering what you feel for to measure your fundal height? I know its from the top of the symphasis pubis to the top of the fundas, but how do you feel for those. I had a poke at the SP before, but the baby kept poking back, so I am not sure if I had it right!

I have been measuring my belly all the way around to see how the size changes - and I kinda got curious to how you do the fundal height and give that a go.

Anyone have any clue what you are feeling for? I have been really enjoying my more hands on approach to this pg.

SP is top of your pubic bone, hmmm, easy not technical way to feel for it, feel your vag and then feel up to where you feel the bone end... thats the top...

Your fundal is the uterus so from the SP feel your belly *do laying down* to where the belly kinda drops off your feel a large mass thats the uterus... HTH

Being that your 34weeks, fundal height should be around the same, and should be about 14cms from your belly button to top to fundus, but that is only a guesstimation.

By now you should be able to feel the top of your fundus really easily. Put your finger in the gap where your pubic bone is starting to separate and then move the measuring tape to the top part of that so if you were looking at it, it would be above the pubic bone kwim? then hold it there and get your other hand with the tape in it and feel the top of your fundus, it's quite distinctive by now and it will feel hard - basically like a little ridge and then use your measure from that. I probably didn't explain it all that well either. I loved measuring it just to see how much more it could stretch ROFL - it got to 52cm with my last pg and we just didn't think it was possible for it to keep get bigger, but there was a lot of fluid and a lot of baby in there.

Thanks! I can add that now too. Yay. Will do it once I have had a chance to rush madly to the toilet!
