    Groin pain

The last couple of days I've had bad groin pain & achey hips.
Is this likely to last for the rest of my pregnancy, or does it come & go?
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi CheezelMonster
The pain you are having is caused by a hormone called relaxin. Relaxin causes all your joints and ligaments to loosen in preparation for birth. Unfortunately a very common side effect of this hormone is a pain in your pubic bone and achy hips. And now for the bad news you will probably be stuck with this pain until you give birth. You may be able to ease the pubic bone pain by moving slowly and trying to keep your knees together when you move.

Everyone is different, but I have found that most of the aches and pains come and go. They'll be there for a couple of days and quite painful, then I'll get a few days relief before they come back. FWIW I find a nice warm bath absolute heaven when I have them and panadol does help a little bit.

I got heaps of relief after a visit to the physio - might be worth a shot?
