I'm now 30 weeks and due to have my GTT (its tomorrow...1 hr test)...was meant to be last week but i wasn't in the state.

Anyhow...when i was pg with DD1 i was told not to fast....with DD2 i was told to fast for 12 hours before.....and this time i was told nothing....just handed a pathology slip.

So......do i or don't i fast?

If so..how long for?

I had the 1hr test the other day and didn't fast for it.... was told not to, it said it on my pathology slip the GP gave me.... have you checked yours to see if it states it anywhere? If not, ring your GP to check.

I think (??) the 2hr test you fast for maybe?

Hey kimbaz - hopefully its the same test! When I did mine, not too long ago - no fasting for the one hour one.

The fasting was for if you had to go on and have the further tests.

Nothing on my slip except 28/40 and FBC.
A list of places to go to..hospital contact details, hosp patient details....but nothing bout fasting!

GCT is 1 hr test and you dont fast

GTT is 2 hr test and u do fast.

Mine is on Saturday, and I was told to eat breakky 1 hr before hand, and then not again till after.

Hi Kim,

I had mine a little while ago now, but as I had mine around lunch time I was told not to eat anything until after the test.

I was however allowed to have a couple of cuppa's and a few dry crackers early in the morning (around 7ish).

I'd call your ob and ask about it though.

I had it today and she never asked if id fasted.....but i never ate this morning anyhow...LOL
