When you say Palpitations do you mean heart flutters/back beats, or do you mean a fast heartbeat?
I get both sometimes, the heart flutters were worrying me so my OB sent me to a Cardiologist just to ease my mind, everything turned out to be fine. He explained that during pregnancy the heart works double time to keep the extra blood pumping around, so when it feels like it 'misses' a beat it is actualy compensating for a fast beat so it pauses for a beat and the next beat hits you with a 'thump' which is the flutter/palpitation.
I hope this helps, I know how scary they can be.
Thanks for that info, that sounds like exactly what I am having. I wondered if it was anything to do with all the extra blood we have, but it is scary.
Yes I have been getting them. I have seen a cardiologist in the past and get them from time to time usually when my body is under stress (certain medications and illnesses ie glandular fever).
I find that I get them with this pregnancy when I dont sleep, which is most of the time as I have only slept 2-4hours a night for the last 2 months.
I also have a fast resting heart rate of around 110plus.
Be interested to keep track of how people go with this and what advice they get.
Anyone get these during the night and causing them to wake? Last night I rolled over and woke to a hard fast beating heart... I went to the doctors this morning and mentioned that I had them before so he said he wasn't worried but since then I've remembered that last time I had them it was due to medication before pregnancy and not something random like this
I got them randomly when i was pregnant. I wouldn't be doing anything and then all of a sudden my heart would start beating really fast. I didn't think much of it just assumed it was normal.
