I used a sports cream that footy players used, had added magnesium in it... was fantastic for leg cramps too...
I suffered with them quiite abit until i started using the cream, i used it once a week initially and then only whe i felt like my legs were bad.

I had the most awful restless legs for a long time, even tried medication with little effect.

Taking a magnesium supplement has all but cured them. I get the occasional bad night if I'm overtired or unwell, but mostly it's not a problem since I started the magnesium.

An old wives tale that seemed to help me a little was a cake of soap (plain soap not Dove or one of the ones with moisturiser in it) that is placed between the bottom sheet and the mattress at the feet end of the bed. It's not the cure that the magnesium is, but it's completely natural! Don't ask me how it works, I don't have a clue!!

Ahhh I remember that, I'd drive dh crazy by kicking frantically! :P I read that walking works, and it did for me, I'd grab a drink and wander around the house (difficult for me, cos my house is small, I did laps :P).

Thanks ladies, I might have to get on the magnesium then!
Although last night I did lots of stretching before bed and that helped, except it got the BH started!

oh I can so sympathise! I really hate that feeling and I am suffering too!
The physio at my antenatal class showed us an exercise that involves sitting on the edge of a chair and flexing the toes and foot up towards you, so you can feel the stretch anyway, then bouncing on it 60-90 times, something to do with the nerves.
can be helpfull but not all the time....
with the magnesium cream, a company called martin and plesance (they also make tissue salts, great products!) make one that is supposed to be very good. let me know if you find something that works really well!
