HELP!! Stop start and now I am nuts!!

OK- Last night I started to have contractions about 10-15 mins apart but they weren't that bad so I went to sleep. Woke up at about 3am to discover I had lost my MP, but the pains were more annoying than bad so I went back to sleep. Woke up this morning and the pains had all but stopped and I have only been getting the odd one here and there. So being PG and over it I spent most of the day bawling my eyes out. I rang the hospital and they didn't seem too worried about it. Now I am just frustrated. Has this happened to any of you????

    Hi Totalfrog

Unfortunatly this is not uncommon, but it is a good sign that things will soon happen for you. I can understand how frustrating this can be. To help move things along you could try having sex. There is a homone in sperm that can help tp bing on contractions. Also nipple stimulation causes your body to release some hormones that can also help to bring on labour.

    Hi Totalfrog,

Maybe also try going for a long walk or as far as you can manage. It got my contractions going after they had died down... also when sitting down sit with your legs apart (very lady like!) so bubs can move further down into your pelvis.

hi there - yes happened to me. i lost my mp for 3 weeks prior to labour and had BH fpr weeks and then regular contractions (7 minutely) on and off for a week prior.

the good thing is your body is preparing and although you are not in labour yet, i have read and personally found that theses pre-labours can often = short established labours.

As for Alan's suggestion - we were suggested this too however dh couldnt think of anything worse those 3 weeks when he saw my mp coming out lol.

here is the link from my prelabours - hopefully you might find some answers in there!
It actually has updates from me the week leading up to ashleys birth,

I should have added too as PM said... pre-labour is great! By the time I got to hospital I was already 4-5cm dilated without much pain...just a bit of discomfort. I was induced as my waters had broken a few days earlier but all that pre-labour sure did something and got me nearly half way!!

I wish you all the best with your labour and can't wait to see your birth announcement!

Thanx guys. Princessmya that sounds exactly like what has been going on with me so I am hoping it won't be much longer now!! (But at least now I have stopped thinking that the baby has taken up permanent residency in there and is never coming out )

Ah yes I've had two of my labours start like this. At the time it is very uncomfortable and frustrating but as Danielle said it is terrific for getting your body ready for when labour starts properly.

I was only in full on labour with Angus for 2 hours before he was born and Caleb for 90mins. I'd much rather have all the pre labour for days and have the last bit all over that quickly than no prelabour and a 9 hour labour anyday

Well I had my appt and I am going into hospital tomorrow. I am already at 3cm but my blood pressure is still a bit iffy so this baby is coming out in the next day or so. I am kinda relieved knowing that it will all be over soon!!
