How long after loosing MP did your labour begin?

Over the last week I have been loosing bits of chunky sticky sometimes stringy bits of mucus. Then yesterday I lost a blob of it, was around the size of half golf ball stained with dark blood and a few red blood streakes as well. My BB group said it's a good chance it was my MP or part of it.

I have been experiencing alot of pre labour symptoms over the last couple of weeks. Mainly cervical pain especially after I had this blob discharge but also lower back ache, and the occasional period type pain but it isn't constant. I have also had an increase in BH over the last few days as well.

I know not to get my hopes up yet, as this can go on for days even weeks. And it feels like it has already after having a threatened labour stopped at 32 weeks.

So I was just wondering how long after loosing your MP or part of it did labour begin for you?

I just randomly lost part of my plug at around 35 weeks, with no pre-labour signs at all.

I was induced at over 41 weeks, so it didn't really have any bearing on it. It reforms apparently.

But if you have had pre-labour signs then hopefully it is imminent!

I lost mine on tuesday morning and she was born the following saturday morning.
On the thursday night, we DTD and a few hours later I started to get mild contractions - more like painful BH. 1am Saturday morning my waters broke and my labour started. She was born 9 hours later. I dont remember whn it was, but i think somewhere around the monday/tuesday i had the runs a little bit and on the thursday I think I had a bit of period type pain.

hi mummymel - well you prob know my story but i will post again..
I lost mucous stained with blood (once off occasions) for 2 days and then the 3rd day was what you described with a big blob of what looked like old blood. This was 3 weeks prior to Ashley being born.
On the friday thru to sunday (ie 2 days prior to her birth). I started loosing more plug.. it was different though. A lot redder and bloody. You could tell the difference. It wasnt clear with red it was bloody. THen she was born!
    HOpe it is soon!

I don't even recall losing mine yet I was a couple of centimeters dilated when I visited my Ob 2 days before my DD was born so I assume that I must have lost it when I dilated. So not help really, sorry.

Thanks everyone. I guess the waiting game with continue.
Still getting some stringy sticky mucus but no more blobs.
I know things could still be weeks away, I'm praying though I might be one of the lucky ones and go into labour with the next week or two at tops.

PrincessMya, I remember the rollercoster ride you have after you first lost part of your MP, I'm preparting myself for similiar but praying I won't have too

    Thanks again everyone.

Mummy Mel - think of it this way , even if you do have a 'rollarcoster ride' like me for weeks at least you wont notice the pre-labour and established labour will hopefully be quicker! (remember i was 4cm when i went to the hospital not even knowing if they were BH or contractions!)

    Finger crossed
