Talking How to Pass your EDD...with out going crazy..

any one have any ideas. i know my EDD will most likely pass me by tomorrow and im looking for ways to pass the time (sleeping isnt an option 'cus it'll be too hot )

Im thinking of finishing a colour in painting (ya know the pre-printed ones..) and maybe baking...is there ANYTHING else that you did/wanted to do/will do if your EDD passes you by? i guess i ask as well depending on how meany days over i go...i'll need more stuff to do!

    Thanking-you in advance!

Forgetaboutit. Thats the best advice I can give. Focus on you and your partner. Forget that you are due. Forget calendars, and tickers. Go see a movie, take a long drive to the beach or the hills whatever you like to do that you might not have the luxury of doing when baby comes. Instead of treating it as OMG where is my baby, treat it as OMG we have x days left of being just a couple and EMBRACE it

Great advice! If you can - book yourself in for a pedicure, manicure, haircut, pregnancy massage... anything to completely spoil yourself! Carrying a baby for 40 weeks is no minor feat!

ohhh a morning at the local beauty salon followed my a movie sounds divine....agree with Nilac...forget the EDD day.....bubs will come...no women has ever got to 10,11,12 months of being pregnant, just rest assured your bub will arrive soon, and in the meantime your most important decision is what colour nail lacquer to paint your toe nails....

Ok coming from someone that went 2 weeks over and went a little dare we say it .. CRAZY..

Definitely take the time to connect with your partner. It will never be just the two of you again. See a movie (air conditioned!), eat chocolate (cos you may not be able to have it when BFing), have nice long baths (cool if you like) and read a magazine - front to back - thats a rarity in this house.. start counting the days back again (so you'll be 39 weeks 6 days... 5 days... 4 days..) so you never reach your EDD.

I think on one of the last days I had a nice glass of wine (or two!) and just relaxed....

    *sigh* It was nice... lol

... and then wonder how you'll get to your toes- but then if someone else is doing it, you don't have that concern.

The only thing you can do is try to forget about it. I got all disappointed when I went to see my OB on my EDD at 40+2 (just happened to be the day I was scheduled to visit) and he stated that it's actually an "ESTIMATED Date of Delivery" and not spot on. He then went on to say it's actually between 38 and 42 weeks they expect to see the baby - after that they'll induce because the placenta stops performing as well. I was so disappointed when I got home that I went in to labour and gave birth that night. Maybe go to the doctor and ask for disappointing news like EDD - nothing too major, of course. Like, get him to tell you you'll be another two weeks. You'll go in to labour "like that"!

Dumb advice from LestyPuss - nothing else expected.

As an aside: Arimeh, your sig is driving me crazy. What's coming? WHAT?
