jerky movements?

was just wondering if sometimes bubs movemtents being a little jerky, if this was normal?
sometimes her movements are little jerky and unnatural feeling, like a leg or arm might poke out and then move real quick, does anyone else experience this?
i know im just overly paranoid about everything LOL but i cant help it
some reassuance would be awesome

I wouldn't worry Stevie, DS was like that too. I think it's just because it's so cramped in there that their movement changes. Also, babies movement is very jerky in those first few weeks on the outside, so it's only natural that it would be similar on the inside.

I worry about the movements too. This morning it was so regular, almost like marching. It was really weird.
I am also a bit worried that I only feel the movements in one place. Last time I saw the obst he said Boo was head down, so what I'm feeling is punches and headbutts. But I'm not actually feeling anything up high, so no kicks, unless she's kicking my inside bits that don't have nerves. I saw her legs move on an early scan so I really don't know what's going on.

That all sounds really normal - sometimes I get a series of little jerky movements, sometimes they're more like a lazy roll or wriggle. Bub doesn't have much room left and is probably wanting to test the limits of movement a bit. I know that sometimes the movements have been so jerky and so many that I thought for a second it felt like a fit! But it's all normal I'm told.

Wouldn't worry about that at all. If your bub is head down, there's a good chance the legs are tucked in and facing towards your spine. Without nerve endings close to the skin, you won't necessarily feel kicks and things. Most of my sensations are bub's bottom wriggling from side to side as it's the only bit of her sticking out. Occasionally I will feel a little punch or kick on one side, but once they get to this stage you're far more likely to feel squirms and wriggles that kicks and punches. I've never felt anything near my ribs and I'm just over 37 weeks now.

My first 2 bubs got hiccups all the time specially in the third tri very common

Stevie I get exactly the same thing and it is so weird. I'm glad you put that post up as i was starting to wonder if it was normal!

I find I used to get a lot of little kicks, punches, pokes etc but in the last week or two the movements have definitely changed. I tend to just 'feel' her more, like I can feel her pressed against my tummy as I'm carrying all out front and I feel her squirming and rolling and generally just lulling around in there. But then all of a sudden she just goes nuts with these crazy jerky movements that seem to shake my bump around. It's quite funny! But thankfully it sounds like it is totally normal!

Yes I get those crazy jerky movements too, and have done so with previous two pregnancies as well. I wish I had a belly window so I could see the manoevres. Feels very weird doesn't it?

I get that too, not to worry. sometimes it really scares me but

Bubs movements are getting that strange that it feels like he/she is scraping her finger nails along my insides trying to get out, a bit like on alien when the guts explode open and the alien comes out lol

I find that if i lay on my side, ut half propped up, i get it very bad, a very weird scraping feeling, so i try to go over onto my back, but keep my back and neck propped up with a pillow

DS1 used to do that alot! I found it to be a horrible feeling!!! DS2 didn't do it at all, and so far this one hasn't done it either, might not be far enough along yet so we'll see

Oh, I meant to say Stevie, I get the jerky movements too.
I meant to start my first reply with that... only just noticed I didn't type it. I'm an airhead.
I really wonder what she's doing in there. Sometimes it feels like shadow boxing, sometimes just random wiggling.
I had a few extra scans at four months because I was in hospital with dengue fever. I couldn't feel anything then but I could see Boo flapping around, just like a newborn does. She was even grabbing her knees. It actually looked like a lot of fun!
