So the last time i posted i went into the hosptial about my vagina bulging. After they had a look they said that my bad constipation might have something to do with it. So they reccommended that i take some laxatives. They reccomonded an all natural brand that uses compressed fruit.
So lastnight i took some for the first time. I woke up thismorning and as soon as i got up i started having contractions. They were about 1 min apart and lasting around 30 seconds. I did kinda start to panic as i was feeling just like i did immediately after my waters broke with Briley. Then i remembered i'd taken the laxative and thought it might be taking effect. I then went and moved my bowels and the contractions have pretty much settled. However, i am still experiecing some weird feelings "down there". I am also aware that "weird feelings down there" are normal at this stage in pregnancy.
Also, at 24 weeks in this pregnancy i was looking like going into pre-term labour and after 3 admissions i was diagnosed with an Irritable Uterus.
So....my question is.... Might the laxatives i am taking, natural or not, set things off with me and maybe send me into REAL labour???
Has anyone else been diagnosed with an Irriatable Uterus??? Have you been in the same boat as me?? ie - contipation and irritable uterus???
Hi I have IU too! I find Metamucil is mild enough to not do anything adverse but good enough to get rid of constipation. My BH feel like normal contactions but longer so def understand ur predicament. R u taking iron tabs? they mite b clogging u up...
I was taking iron tablets earlier on in the pregnancy cause my iron levels are low. I am not taking them now though cause they make things 10 times worse.
I went grocery shopping the other day and brought 2 tins of pear juice and am going to see how that works. I am not going to risk taking any more laxatives until after next week.
The constipation has'nt been too bad the last few days and i have managed to go every couple of days. I am willling to put up with this until after 36 weeks. Things might also get better once baby moves down lower into my pelvis.
Yes, that's how we discovered it, bout 7 trips to the hossy from 34 weeks GRR! Try prune juice too - tastes feral but really works. dried fruit in ur diet mite help but if nothing else works give the metamucil a go.
