I am 39 + 4 days pregnant and yesterday i lost my whole mucus plug as i had a sweep monday so think that may of stirred things up inside as also midwife found was 1cm dilated which i know that means nothing at this stage anyway, but all im curious about is loosing mucus plug mean anything will happen soon as many people i know lost there plug then went into labor within next 2-3 days, i know everyones dif but wondering if could be soon as having tightening and pains with bad back and always emptying my bowles now and feeling v sick at times.
I have another sweep thursday with midwife would u suggest having it? As with me being 1cm dilated i thought a sweep would also be good idea to help me along and see if im anymore dilated and seeing midwife monday as il be 2 days over due and prob have another sweep then if nothing else happens and to keep checking. Is this all ok to still do after loosing mucus plug?
Hi Laura
It sounds like things are moving along for you. Having a sweep after loosing your plug will not do you any harm. I hope to hear that you are in two pieces very soon
Another show!!!! But lost bloody mucas plug yesterday...
Ok i had a lil show last week just a bit mucasy but nothing to write home about lol then yesterday like i said to you i lost my whole mucas plug was browny colour with blood in it and v mucasy but then today i went to the loo as didnt feel right down there and i had another lot of mucas is this right? Im guessing that is the last of it now as main bit def looked like it come away yesterday so todays show must be the left overs and thats it is this normal?
Seein midwife 2mz so will makesure i mention this and have my sweep done again so can be checked at same time seein as i was 1cm dilated mon and cervix was v close down so reli curious to see if im anymore dilated!
EPO i will start taking later is it right i should take 1-2 capsules via mouth with food as directed on bottle and then tonight before i go bed insert 2-3 capsules high as pos into vagina but makesure i put a pad there as can be messy when i get up?
WIth Olivia & Lexie I lost my plug a few days out from giving birth. But with Lexie I lost my plug, then on the morning that I went into labour I lost more bloody mucusy stuff at around 7am and she was born at 10am.
It certainly sounds like it is all happening for you! Very best of luck!
No news as yet to tell u, still pretty much same as before but having a sweep sunday as be day over due then and see what happens and if im any more dilated and that can help kick start labor i hope, getting v emotional at times now as fed up with everything as feel as if i take it out on everyone else around me and im so tired as i dnt sleep at night so in day i feel absolutly exhausted... il go thru any pain now to have my lil girl in my arms! Been offered at induction as 41 weeks which is week sat coz of my raised bp at times but if im feeling ok and bp is ok i can go 10-14 days if i like but gonna talk about that with midwife sun when i have sweep as they will need to book me in soon so see what she suggests but i do wanna stay away from that as if iv come this far id like to go on my own!
Will let you all know when summit happens! Which i hope wont be too long now...
Thought I would pop in and say good luck with everything! Very exciting time, but as you have expressed can also be trying on you and the people who are near to you. The most important thing is to make sure you get some proper sleep, you will need it for 'the moment'. Even if it means your other half giving you a massage or have a bath, whatever to help you rest.
I became a bit irritable near the 'end' and started to loose sleep thinking when will it ever happen, then I had a planned induction and made sure that night I slept well and I couldnt stress more it was one of the best things I did!
A sweep can be a really good way to get things moving but don't forget your body is able to do this without interfering and having someone who is not your partner putting their fingers into your vagina on a regular basis is very invasive. I'm sure you can do it without another sweep.
The more examinations you have, the more chance of introducing infection.

Walking can be a good way to get things moving too (and it can be quite relaxing, if you're one who enjoys walks) - gets gravity on your side. Balance that with rest. Not long to go! What do you think about Raspberry Leaf Tea?
With my first two I lost the plug during labour but for Caleb I lost it 3 weeks before he was born so it doesn't always mean things are going to happen straight away...
