I was just curious to know if people have been nesting? I had a room full of unsorted stuff which has been sitting there since we moved house 4 months ago. I got stuck in today and sorted it all out. It feels really good, although I am really tired now and don't have the energy to do my normal cleaning.
I have been nesting for ages, I was shocking last pregnancy too!
I nest by decluttering, rearranging, cleaning every possible surface/room/item. I keep the house in a state of "readiness" at all times, not sure why!
So far this pregnancy I have cleaned out our fridge, freezer, pantry, linen cupboard, my wardrobe, both DS's wardrobes, I have decluttered, thrown things out, given good items to the op-shop. I've also wiped down all the walls and doors in our house. There's more, I just can't think of it all now LOL! Next I have to set up the nursery and get our carpet rug and couches cleaned.
It would be great if we were this motivated when not pregnant .
After not doing any housework apart from the bare minimum for the last few weeks (digusting I know..lol) today I cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed and mopped and everything else that has been neglected lately, then to top it all off I cleaned out the bathroom cupboard and the basket we have under the sink then rearranged both of them. After that I was too sore and tired to do anything else...and now I have to go drag myself off to make dinner...I have a big list of stuff I'm hoping to get done before bub decides to arrive..bet I won't get it all done though! LOL
i have arranges and re arranged babies room about 3 times, i have emptied all 3 wardrobes twice and re stacked/re tubbed/ re labeled everything. i have sorted every little last thing in the house ino storage containers (i bought some small food storage containers from the reject shop, and have labelled them 'junk' and stacked them neatly in a cupboard.. lol) i have re arranged the lounge room and dd's play room numerous times.
i have made a list of which containers i need for which food in my pantry (i use decor ones, and layby at Kmart when on special ) i have labels typed ready to print. i have sorted all DD's old clothes into size and season order, and vacuum bagged the lot waiting for dd2 to need them!
umm thats all that i can think of! but in general, i also like to keep the house 'ready' like Trish said! i think thats more to do with having worked nights for the past 12 months, adn coming home to a pig sty. i have satisfaction out of having a tidy house to wake up to!
my mum actually said to me yesterday, that she recalls i was scrubbing walls at 37 weeks preg with my daughter. and that got me thinking.. my walls could to with a scrub......
Nursery is done, most of the purchases for Tarko are done, spare room has been and other random cupboards have been thoroughly cleaned - threw out a few garbage bags of junk. Purchased a new buffet for the dinning room and filled that with all the 'good' stuff so I have more room in my kitchen cupboards, booked electrician to get all our lighting done (we're in a new place), got dad and DH to paint nursery and spare room - the rest of the house is next
This weekend I hope to tackle my WIR so I have easy access to the clothes that actually fit and I'll push aside all my pre-preggy clothes. I have bought a heap of photos albums for when I finish work so I can sort all our old photos and all the digital ones sitting on our computer. The pantry will also get attacked.
Yeah, but I feel far to sick to do it today.. Seems the maxolon has stopped working right at the end! NOOOOOOOOOOO. Not helping that I have almost no room in my stomach and its so squished up under my ribs everything is one burp away from returning.
But damn if my house and kitchen don't look and smell nice.
