Lanisoh (sp?) is a very pure, clean lanolin recommended by Nursing Mothers Assoc and other b/feeding places worldwide as the ideal nipple cream. It is about $16 a tube from chemists. Other than that, try any brand calendula ointment/cream from a healthfood shop. Tinderbox brand is clear of nasties also.

I use Lanisoh too, its fantastic and you only need a small amount. Once your milk is in the best thing to do is leave a small amount of breastmilk on after each feed.

Lansinoh..that's the one I read about.
and if you're using cloth nappies you can use them to treat your wool covers too!

I use Lanisoh, you only have to use such a small amount! I am using it to soften my nipples before breastfeeding starts.

Is Lansinoh okay to have on your nipples whilst BFing - Is it ok for the baby to have in their mouth or do you need to wash it off first??

Carrie, you don't have to wash it off before breastfeeding Bub to my knowledge. You put it on after each feed I have heard. I've also heard rubbing some milk into your nipple after breastfeeding helps also. You might want to google it or something?

Carrie - you dont have to wash it off.
It is safe and natural product and works wonders
You can pick it up from your chemist or department store,
I use it for dry lips now lol as bb's are fine!

Yes true and you only have to use the smallest amount, it's not cheap but I've had mine for a while now and it feels like it's still a full tube!

I got some Lansinoh today and the instructions say that you can leave it on when breastfeeding.
